These festival dates are
tentative and are subject to change. In case of any change in the festival dates
the program might get changed at a later stage. As per the dates of the festival
we have arranged the rest of the dates and offering you the detailed program as
follows.
IMP: As per the present schedule
of Druk Air, in Sep Paro / Delhi flight should be operating on following days:
Mon, Thurs, Fri and Sun. In case of change in the operational days of the
captioned flight below program might change.
Day 01 Flight to Delhi
Connecting flight from various airports to
Frankfurt. At noon scheduled flight with Lufthansa to Delhi. Arrival in the
midnight and subsequently transfer to your hotel.

Day 02 Delhi
In the late
morning you visit the highlights in old and New Delhi, apart from the other
things the impressing biggest mosque and the colonial area of government
administration.

Day 03 Delhi - Darjeeling
In the
morning flight to Bagdogra. Lunch at airport and drive to Darjeeling 100 km. (03
hours),. Darjeeling, which is well-known for its high-quality tea cultivation,
offers the flair of a typical health resort of the British colonial age. A broad
mall with it's interesting shops invitesyou for strolling
and discovering.

Day 04 Darjeeling
In the
early morning drive to the vantage point - Tiger Hill with a view of the snow
peak of the kanchenjunga (8,579 m). Afterwards visit to the Tibetan Refugee camp
and the buddhist Ghoom monastery. On way back, later visit the renowned
Mountaineering institute

Day 05 Darjeeling - Pemayangtse
After Breakfast Drive 128 Kms (7-8 hours). to
Pemayangste through sumptuous subtropical mountain landscape, influenced form
evergreen rain forest, rhododendron
koniferen forests and orchids. On 2,000 m height exists one of the oldest
monasteries Nyingmapa-Orden in Sikkim (8thcentury). Packed lunch
enroute.

Day 06 Pemayangtse - Gangtok
After Breakfast
Drive to Gangtok, 115 Kms (5-6 hours) capital of Sikkim. The former kingdom of
Sikkim was integrated in April 1975 into the Indian confederation of states. As
typical british hill station extends the capital along a burr with a beautiful
view of the Kanchenjunga-massive. Packet Lunch at a simple restaurant.

Day 07 Gangtok
After
Breakfast visit the Rumtek monastery, centre of the Kagyupa-order as the copy of
the tibetan original monastery after the occupation of tibet. In the Namgyal
institute of Tibetology in Gangtok you can admire the biggest collection of
tibetan manuscripts and Thangkas from
all over asia. In the afternoon visit to Enchey monastery, important seat of the
Nyingmapa sect.

Day 08 Gangtok - Phuentsholing
After Breakfast Drive from Gangtok to the border city
of Bhutan Phuntsholing 240 Kms (8 hrs) through a varied landscape with rice and
tee plantations. Through a beautifully worked gate you enter Bhutan, packed
lunch on the way. Dinner/ Night stay in Hotel

Day 09 Phuentsholing - Thimpu
Drive 6hrs to Thimphu, 179 kms, the modern capital of
Bhutan, lies at an elevation of 2300m in a valley traversed by the Wang chu
(river). Tashichho dzong the main Secretariat building which houses the throne
room of His Majesty and a summer residence of the central monk body. Although
not what one expects from a capital city, Thimphu is a fitting and lively place.
Home to civil servants, expatriates and the monk body, Thimphu maintains a
strong national character in its architectural style. It is also an ideal spot
for day walks.

Day 10 Thimpu - Wangdi
Drive 3 hours to Wangduephodrang, 70 kms via Punakha
crossing the Dochula pass 3100 meters. On fine weather you will see the eastern
Himalayan ranges including the highest mountain in Bhutan Mt.Gangar Punsum 7520
meters.

Day 11Wangdi - Jakar (Bumthang)
Today will be a long drive almost 6 / 7 hours crossing
3 passes over 3000 meters. The route offers magnificent views of the
Himalayas and beautiful landscape
through scattered hamlets and forest of rhododendrons and pine. Picnic lunch
will be served at the 18 century Chendebji chorten. After one and half hour
arrive at a small town known as Trongsa meaning new village. The town mainly
consists of fresh Tibetan refugees but the most impressive of all is the Trongsa
Dzong. The whole of eastern Bhutan was con trolled from this fortress during the
mid 17th century. Visitors are not allowed inside the building. Proceed another
2 hours to Bumthang visiting the Chume weaving center.

Day 12 Jakar (Bumthang)
Bumthang altitude 2600m, has an individuality that
charms its visitors and separates it from other regions. Comprised of four
smaller valleys, the deeply spiritual region of Bumthang is shrouded in
religious legend. Here tales of Guru Padmasambhava and his re-incarnation known
as Tertons still linger in most nooks and corners. It is also known for its
woolen material (yathra) which can be seen hung outside of houses for sale.
Sightseeing - Visit the Jakar Dzong, 7th century Jambay Lhakhang, Kurjey
monastery, Tamshing and Kunchosum monastery. This sightseeing is a round trip so
it is more interesting done on foot.

Day 13 Jakar - Wangdi
Drive back to Wangduephodrang.
Day 14 Wangdi - Thimpu
After breakfast enjoy the Wangdi Festival
After lunch drive 3/4 hours to Thimpu visiting the
oldest building in Bhutan, the Simtokha Dzong. It now serves as a Buddhist
university.

Day 15 Thimpu
Full day in Thimpu for the Festival and also for the
sightseeing of Thimpu.
Day 16 Thimpu - Paro
After breakfast leave early in the morning for Paro so
that you have enough time to do the complete sightseeing.
Sightseeing - visit the ruined fortress of Drugyel
dzong which still attracts visitors due to the strategic location of the fort.
The fort defended the Paro valley from the Tibetan
invasion from the north in the early 17th century. On clear weather Mount
Chomolhari 7320 meters can be seen towering over the dzong. Proceed through the
beautiful valley to the watch tower or locally known as Ta-Dzong. It was housed
into the National museum in the 1960s by the third King Jigme Dorji Wangchuck.
The seven floors museum highlights various aspects of Bhutanese culture and
history dating back to the 7th century. A short walk downhill to the Rinpung
Dzong which serves as the administrative center and school for monks.
Day 17 Paro - Delhi
Along the snow-covered ranges of Himalayas you pass
today in the small, with a small machine the highest peak of the world. Mt.
Everest presents itself a good view. On arrival in Delhi transfer to hotel.

Day 18 Delhi - Onward Flight
Transfer to international airport to connect onward
flight.
