Arrive at Kolkata / Day 01

Arrive in Kolkata. On arrival, you will be greeted and assisted by our representative and transferred to the hotel. (Rooms will be available from 14:00 hrs only) KOLKATA - The word Kolkata derives from the Bengali term Kolikata, the name of one of three villages that predated the arrival of the British, in the area where the city eventually was established. Enjoy sightseeing of Kolkata including: Victoria Memorial: This splendid architectural structure was built in the early 20th century in memory of Queen Victoria by Lord Curzon between 1906 and 1921 and was formally inaugurated by the Prince of Wales. The Victoria Memorial blends the best of the British and Mughal architecture. It is interesting to note that the Victoria Memorial was built without British government funds. Kumartuli: Kumartuli is the only potter's quarter in the city of Kolkata. Every lane and bylane of this town, have houses, which have been converted into platforms. Here master sculptors work round the clock to create clay idols of deities, of the Hindu pantheon like Durga, Kali, Saraswati, Ganesha, etc. Work peaks in the days ahead of Durga Puja or Dussehra Festival. Mother Teresa House: Nirmal Hriday is the first institution, established in 1950, by Mother Teresa under her own organization "Missionaries of Charity". This is a home for sick, destitute and the dying people. Sick people are medically treated here and all medical facilities are provided free of cost. St. Paul Cathedral Church: Noted for its Indo-Gothic style of architecture and with a height of 201 feet, it was built in the year 1847, by Major W.N. Forbes of East India Company. This Cathedral has the rare distinction of being the 1st Episcopal Church of the East.   Overnight at the hotel.

Kolkata / Bagdogra / Darjeeling / Day 02

After breakfast, transfer to the Airport to connect flight to Bagdogra. On arrival, you will be greeted and assisted by our representative and drive to Darjeeling DARJEELING – Often referred to as the “Queen of Hill Stations”, Darjeeling is located at an average elevation of 2,050 meters above sea level. The hill station is renowned internationally for its tea industry and presents spectacular views of the snow-clad Himalayan peaks. On arrival in Darjeeling, transfer to hotel. Evening enjoy walk around the Mall/Chowrasta which is the main hub of Darjeeling. Overnight at the hotel.

Darjeeling / Day 03

Today enjoy excursion to a Tea Estate. You will enjoy a tea plantation tour, visit to a tea factory and watch the processing of tea followed by a tea tasting session. Later enjoy a toy train joy ride on the famous Darjeeling Himalayan Steam Train, a UNESCO World heritage site (approximately 02 hrs journey to and from Darjeeling Railway Station). Note: Tea factory remains closed on Sunday. There is no tea plucking and processing between December – March.

Darjeeling / Day 04

After breakfast enjoy visit of Darjeeling including following: Himalayan Mountaineering Institute & Museum (Remains closed on Thursday) - About two km from the town, the Himalayan Mountaineering Institute (HMI) runs courses to train mountaineers, and maintains a couple of interesting museums. The Mountaineering Museum contains a collection of historic mountaineering equipment, specimens of Himalayan flora and fauna and a model of the Himalaya. The Everest Museum next door traces the history of trekking attempts on the great peak. Himalayan Zoological Park (Remains closed on Thursday) - This zoo was established in 1958 with the prime objective of study, conservation and preservation of Himalayan fauna. The animals are well cared by dedicated keepers. The zoo houses India's only collection of Siberian tigers and some rare species, such as the red panda and the Tibetan wolf. Tibetan Refugee Centre: Established in 1959, the centre comprises a home for the aged, and orphanage, school, hospital and craft workshops that produce carpets of pure Ladakhi wool, woodcarving, leather work and wool items. The weaving and dyeing unit and the wood carving unit are particularly interesting. Toy Train ride: A visit to Darjeeling is incomplete without a ride in the toy train of Darjeeling Himalayan Railway (DHR). The miniature train, given heritage status by UNESCO, covers the distance of 88 km between New Jalpaiguri station and Darjeeling. This fascinating narrow gauge steam engine powered train still operates with the original steam engine and the loops and the zigzags along the route are remarkable feats of engineering. The short journey from Darjeeling town to Ghoom (the nearest station), becomes a joy ride in itself. Ghoom Monastery - More correctly known as Yogachoeling Gompa, this is probably the most famous monastery in Darjeeling. It lies about 8 kms south of town, just below Hill Cart road and the train station near Ghoom. It enshrines an image of the Maitreya Buddha.

Darjeeling / Rumtek / Gangtok / Day 05

Early morning visit Tiger Hill. The highest spot in the area at 2590m, Tiger Hill is located near Ghoom, about 11km from Darjeeling. The hill is famous for its magnificent dawn views over Kanchenjunga and other eastern Himalayan peaks. On a clear day even Mount Everest is visible. After breakfast drive to Gangtok. Before reaching Gangtok visit Rumtek Monastery. It was originally built by 16th Karmapa and is the seat of his holiness, the XVIth Gyawla Karmapa, the head of the Karma Kagyu order of Tibetan Buddhism. Originally called the Dharma Chakra Centre, it includes a beautiful temple and a monastery for the monks within the  precincts. After sightseeing, continue drive to Gangtok.  The precise meaning of the name Gangtok is unclear, though the most popular meaning is "hill top". The capital city of Sikkim is located on a ridge overlooking the Ranipool river at a height of 1650 metres. Once an important transit point for traders travelling between Tibet and India, it is today a busy administrative and business centre and presents an interesting mix of cultures and communities. Gangtok / Day 06

After breakfast, enjoy visit of Gangtok including the following: Tashi View Point: It was built by the late King of Sikkim, Tashi Namgyal. This site offers a breathtaking panorama of the majestic Mount Kanchenjunga and the surrounding hills. Namgyal Research Institute of Tibetology: Located on a hilltop, the world-renowned Namgyal Research Institute of Tibetology is built in the typical Tibetan style of architecture. Situated amongst magnolia and oak trees, the institute promotes research on the largest collection of books and manuscripts on Mahayana Buddhism in the world. There are about 30000 volumes and translations of the original teachings of Buddha, and various other treatises of other venerable Buddhist scholars from around the world. Cottage Industries Emporium: Started during the time of the Chogyals of Sikkim, as a venture to preserve, protect and propagate the authentic Sikkimese arts, handicrafts and skills of local and village artisans, it has become one of the major attractions for people visiting Sikkim. Here beautiful souvenirs like carpets, hand carved tables (choktses), traditional handcrafts, furniture, carpets and other products are produced & exhibited for sale. Overnight at the hotel.

Gangtok / Kalimpong / Day 07

After breakfast drive to Kalimpong. Afternoon, enjoy sightseeing including: Zangtok Pelri Phodang: It is Kalimpong’s largest monastery that sits atop Durpin Dara Hill and was consecrated by the Dalai Lama in 1976. It has impressive wall paintings in the prayer room and rare 3D mandalas on the second floor. One can see Mt. Khangchendzonga from the Durpin Dara Hill.  Tharpa Choling Monastery: It belongs to the Gelugpa or Yellow Hat Sect of Tibetan Buddhism and founded by Domo Geshe Rinpoche Ngawang Kalsang in 1912.  Thongsa Gompa: It is the oldest Bhutanese Monastery established in 1692. It was rebuilt in 1964 as the original building was destroyed by Sikkim Gurkhas. Flower Nurseries: Kalimpong produces 80% of India's gladiolas and is an important orchid growing area. Flowers are exported from here to many cities in northern India. Overnight at the hotel

Kalimpong / Bagdogra / Dibrugarh / Day 08

After early breakfast drive to Bagdogra airport to connect flight to Dibrugarh. Dibrugarh derives its name from "Dibrumukha", which means the river 'Dibru' and 'Mukh' which means mouth. It is one of the largest cities in Assam. This beautiful city is full of natural and cultural sites to unwind. Dibrugarh and its surrounding cities Tinsukia and Sivasagar account for almost 50% of India's tea crop in Assam, giving it the sobriquet of the "Tea City of India". In the afternoon take a walk in Mancotta Tea Estate. Evening enjoy a Bihu dance performance by an ethnic dance group. It is the most popular folk dance of Assam. Overnight at the hotel

Dibrugarh / Day 09

Today visit Ethelwold Tea Estate and Mukul Organic Tea Plantation to know all about CTC (Crush, Tear and Curl) & Orthodox tea. Also experience a Tea tasting session of different types of tea with a knowledgeable person in the field of tea / practicing Estate Manager. A Tea Tour through old heritage tea garden gives an insight into the different activities that vary from season to season. It teaches us all about tea, its origin, how it is grown, tea tasting and its quality. Note: Visit to tea factory is subject to being operational on the day of the visit. There is no tea plucking between December till mid March. Hence the actual manufacturing process of tea cannot be demonstrated when one visits the factory during this period. Tea Factory remains closed on Monday. Overnight at the hotel

Dibrugarh – Margerita – Dibrugarh / Day 10

After breakfast drive to Margerita (100 kms / 2.5 hrs) to visit a Singpho tribal village that produces traditional Organic Tea. Singpho people are Theravada Buddhists by religion. The Singphos are divided into a number of clans, each under a Chief known as “Gam”. They were the first to introduce the tea culture in Assam. Interestingly, here the entire process of manufacturing the tea is done in a traditional manner without the use of any machines or gadgets. Enroute at Digboi, visit Oil Museum and the second World War Allied Forces Cemetery where 200 graves are permanently maintained by the Commonwealth War Graves Commission. Note: Digboi oil Museum remains closed on mondays.

Dibrugarh – Jorhat – Majuli / Day 11

Today after breakfast drive to Jorhat (3.5 hrs) and visit Tocklai Tea Research Station. Tocklai Tea Research Association (TRA) is a registered co-operative society dedicated to scientific research and extension for improvement in productivity and quality of tea in North East India. Research on all aspects of tea cultivation and processing is carried out at the Tocklai Experimental Station. It is the oldest and the largest research station of its kind in the world. Note: It remains closed on Sunday. After lunch drive to Neematighat to board country boat ABN Charaidew I- Floating Heritage hotel on the Brahmaputra. Overnight at the boat.

Majuli – Kaziranga / Day 12

After breakfast, board country boat, which will take you to Majuli Island (approx 1.5 Hrs boat ride), one of the world’s largest river islands. Majuli Island, inhabited by Mising tribes, Deori and Sonowal Kachari tribes, is considered to be the heartland of Assamese culture. The great 15th century Assamese saint and reformer, Srimanta Sankardev arrived here and set up ‘satras’ or ‘monasteries’ preaching a monotheist branch of Hinduism called Vaishnavism, which motivated and established a socio-religious movement that ultimately shaped the island’s Assamese society and culture into what it is today. On arrival in Majuli visit the famous mask making monastery of Samaguri which still practices this ancient tradition of Vaishnavism. From here, drive to Uttar Kamalabari Satra, another monastery that’s known for its monastic dance form.  Later interact with the monks, which will allow you to get a deeper insight into how monks live here in the island. After the visit go for a walk into one of the Mising villages, and observe this riverine tribe’s way of life as well as interact with the lovely tribal folk. Late afternoon, transfer to the Kamalabari ferry point where your country boat will be waiting to take you back to Neemati Ghat. Later continue drive to Kaziranga (02 hrs). The Kaziranga National Park is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, where more than 75% of the world’s total population of the Great Indian One Horned Rhinoceros can be found. It lies on the southern bank of the Brahmaputra River and is one of the oldest parks of Assam. Besides rhinos, the Asiatic Water Buffalo numbering over 1200, elephants over 1000, tigers more than 81, Swamp deer, Barking deer and Hog deer can be seen. About 400 species of birds are found in Kaziranga National Park. Sighting is excellent and is always a great experience here. The specialties here are the blue napped pitta among a host of eagles and waterfowl. Note: Kaziranga National Park remains open from 1st November to 30th April every year. DELHI - It is a city that bridges two different worlds. Old Delhi, once the capital of Islamic India, is a labyrinth of narrow lanes lined with crumbling havelis and formidable mosques. In contrast, the imperial city of New Delhi created by the British Raj is composed of spacious, tree-lined avenues and imposing government buildings.

Delhi / Day 02

Enjoy the Jamali Kamali walk, in the Mehrauli Archaeological Park. It is a beautiful 02 hours walk to Jamali Kamali Mosque. Later, walk half a kilometer to reach Qutub Minar, a soaring 73 m-high tower of victory. In the afternoon, drive past the Government buildings of New Delhi, reminiscent of the British colonial architecture. Make a photo stop at the India Gate, an "Arc-de-Triumph" like archway in the middle of a crossroad. Late afternoon is reserved for a visit of the Humayun’s Tomb, the magnificent garden tomb incorporating within it an Indo-Islamic architectural style.

Delhi / Kathgodam / Binsar / Day 3

Connect train to Kathgodam and from there drive to reach Binsar. The sleepy and picturesque hamlet is known for its scenic location and spellbinding views of the majestic Himalayan peaks.

Binsar / Almora / Thikalna village / Day 04

Nestled in the wilderness of the Himalayas, Almora is a beautiful hill station with serene natural beauty and a pre-British history. On the way to Almora, visit Chitai Temple, dedicated to the God of Justice. During a visit of the Almora town admire the interesting combination of Kumaoni and British architecture in its buildings. Continue drive towards the Thikalna road head. From here, an easy walk of around 45-minutes will take you to your overnight stop, a village home stay. The walk will be through a forest path covered with oak and rhododendrons trees on both sides and stunning snow capped Himalayan views along the way.

Thikalna / Kot Naikana Village / Day 05

Today walk along the ridge towards Saukiyathal temple and Jageshwar temple complex with beautiful views of the Nanda Devi range on the left. After a picnic lunch continue walking for an hour to reach the village of Kot Naikana. The walk will be through a mix of rhododendron, thick deodar (cedar) and pine forests, occasionally covering uphill and downhill stretches. Total walking duration: 4-5 hours

Kot Naikana Village / Binsar / Day 06

Today trace your steps back to Binsar, with a walk of around 05 hours. Walk downhill to the temple of Jhankarsem and the valley of Dudum. The walk will be through multiple villages providing excellent opportunities to interact with the locals and watch their lifestyle. After a picnic lunch, a two-hour uphill walk will bring you to Binsar.

Habarana – Excursion to Anuradhapura and Mihintale / Day 03

Enjoy excursion to Anuradhapura, the first ancient capital of Sri Lanka and still a sacred Buddhist religious center. A UNESCO World Heritage Site, it is known for well-preserved ruins of the temples and religious centers along the bank of the river Malwathu Oya. In Mihintale visit Mihintale Buddhist Temple, the cradle of Buddhism in Sri Lanka.

Habarana – Excursion to Hiriwadunna and Minneriya / Day 04

Enjoy excursion to Hiriwadunna and Minneriya National Park. Hiriwadunna Village: Take a village walk through the rustic rural community of Sigiriya and Habarana. During the walk, experience the lifestyle, culture and hospitality of the local villagers. There will be ample opportunity to experience conventional rice fields, vegetable farming, poultry keeping, bee keeping and much more. Enjoy safari in the Minneriya National Park, famous for its large population of Elephants. Other wildlife that can be spotted at the national park includes salt water crocodiles, wild buffaloes, spotted Deer, sloth bears, leopards etc.

Habarana / Dambulla / Matale / Kandy / Day 05

Drive to Kandy. On the way visit Dambulla. It is home to the world’s most acclaimed cave complex of magnificent Buddha images and rock paintings of vivid colours and shapes. These caves were constructed and painted from around 2nd Century BC (Anuradhapura era) and continued up to the Kandyan era of the 18th Century. On a visit to a Spice Garden in Matale, get an insight about various spice plants like cinnamon, cardamom, pepper etc. and their use in the food preparations. Continue to Kandy that was home to the Sinhalese kings from 1592 to 1815. Evening is reserved for a visit to the Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic that is considered one of the holiest shrines in Sri Lanka.

Kandy / Nanu Oya / Nuwara Eliya / Day 06

Today transfer to the railway station to board train for Nanu Oya. Traversing through green and lush tea plantations with stunning mountain views, it is considered to be one of the most beautiful train journeys in the world. Continue on to Nuwara Eliya that boasts of its natural beauty and is considered to be the most important tea producing centres in Sri Lanka. Afternoon is reserved for a visit to the tea factory to watch the processing of tea.

Nuwara Eliya – Excusion to Horton Plains National Park / Day 07

Enjoy a trek through the Horton Plains National Park that resembles the African savanna landscape. Cold and windy, the plains are a flourishing ecosystem of native creatures such as leopard, Sambhur, the endemic purple face langur, the Sri Lankan bush warbler, the Yellow-eared bulbul etc.

Arrive at Paro / Thimpu / Day 01

Dazzling views of the Himalayas cast a spell as you enter Paro valley, with the silvery Paro Chu (river) meandering down, Paro Dzong (fortress) and Ta Dzong (National Museum) in the distance. Drive to the capital, Thimphu, an exciting blend of tradition and modernity.

Thimpu / Day 02

Spend the day visiting monuments in and around Thimpu including National textile museum, the folk heritage museum, a short excursion to the Buddha Point (Kuensel Phodrang) to get a fascinating view of the Thimpu valley, Changangkha Lhakhang and Trashichhoedzong. Evening is reserved for a cooking demonstration showcasing the preparation of Bhutanese delicacies.

Thimpu / Gangtey and Phobjikha / Day 03

The valley of Gangtey is one of the most beautiful spots in Bhutan. A few kilometres beyond on the valley floor lies the village of Phobjikha, the winter home of black necked cranes that migrate from the arid plains in the north to pass winter in milder and lower climate. Evening visit the Gangtey Goempa (monastery).

Gangtey / Punakha / Day 04

Punakha had served as the capital of Bhutan and still is the winter seat of Je Khenpo (the chief abbot). End the day with an excursion to Chimi Lhakhang, also known as the temple of fertility.

Punakha / Day 05

Start the day with an excursion followed by hike to Khamsum Yulley Namgyal Chorten. It dominates the upper Punakha Valley with commanding views across the Mo Chhu and up towards the mountainous peaks of Gasa and beyond. Later visit the Punakha Dzong, a massive structure built at the junction of Pho Chhu and Mo Chhu rivers. Evening is reserved for a visit to a traditional farm house and meeting a local family over a cup of tea / coffee.

Punakha / Paro / Day 06

Standing at an altitude of 2200 m / 7218 ft above sea level, the beautiful valley of Paro encapsulates within itself a rich culture, scenic beauty and hundreds of myths and legends. On the way to Paro visit Simtokha Dzong, the first dzong built by Zhabdrung and the first structure in Bhutan to incorporate both monastic and administrative facilities. Evening is reserved for a traditional Bhutanese hot stone bath known as Dotsho in local language. It has been practiced in Bhutan for centuries as a medicinal soak.

Paro / Day 07

The day will be spent hiking (about 04.5 to 5 hours both ways) to the Taktsang Lhakhang (Tiger's Nest). It is one of the most famous monasteries of Bhutan and perched on the side of a cliff 900m above the Paro valley. In the afternoon a demonstration of Archery, the national sport of Bhutan will be arranged.

Paro / Day 08

Morning is reserved for Tshewang ceremony, a special prayer held at monastery by a team of monks for the peace, prosperity and good health. It will be followed by lighting of butter lamps at monastery alter. After breakfast explore Paro and visit Ta Dzong (National Museum) and Rinpung Dzong, the venue of Paro Tshechu, held once a year in the spring. Afternoon is free to explore the local market.

Delhi has been the seat of power for several rulers and many empires for about a millennium. Many a times the city was built, destroyed, and then rebuilt here. On arrival in Delhi, transfer to hotel. Delhi / Day 02

After a breakfast enjoy the Jamali Kamali Walk Start the walk from the main entrance to the Mehrauli Archaeological Park. It is a beautiful 02 hours walk to Jamali Kamali Mosque.  The beautiful and spruced up lawns of Jamali Kamali make it a scenic picnic spot for Delhiites. Jamali Kamali Mosque and Tomb, located in the Archaeological Village complex in Mehrauli, Delhi, India, comprises of two monuments adjacent to each other; one is the mosque and the other is the tomb of two persons with the names Jamali and Kamali. Later, walk half a kilometer to reach Qutub Minar. Qutub Minar - Qutub Minar is a soaring, 73 m-high tower of victory, built in 1193 by Qutab-ud-din Aibak. The tower has five distinct storey’s, each marked by a projecting balcony and tapers from a 15 m diameter at the base to just 2.5 m at the top. The first three storeys are made of red sandstone; the fourth and fifth storey’s are of marble and sandstone. At the foot of the tower is the Quwwat-ul-Islam Mosque, the first mosque to be built in India. A 7 m-high iron pillar stands in the courtyard of the mosque. It is said that if you can encircle it with your hands while standing with your back to it your wish will be fulfilled. Drive to the south of Delhi and enjoy Lunch with a Local Indian Family, where guest will get the opportunity to interact with them. Clients will be given brief introduction on Indian Herbs & Cooking Class. Client will also learn the traditional Indian cooking methods. We will demonstrate Indian meal. Guest will enjoy this cooked meal for Lunch. Drive past the Govt. Buildings - New Delhi houses several government buildings and official residences reminiscent of the British colonial architecture. Today we will drive past few of them, like The Parliament House, designed by Baker is 173m in diameter, the Rashtrapati Bhawan once the Viceroy’s residence is now the official residence of the President of India. Designed by Lutyens, it combines western and eastern styles.  Photo stop at the India Gate - At the centre of New Delhi stands the 42 m high India Gate, an "Arc-de-Triumph" like archway in the middle of a crossroad. Almost similar to its French counterpart, it commemorates the 70,000 Indian soldiers who lost their lives fighting for the British Army during the World War I. Visit the Humayun’s Tomb - Humayun's Tomb is probably one of the most innovative and experimental monuments of its time, incorporating within it Indo-Islamic architectural styles. This magnificent garden tomb is the first substantial example of Mughal architecture in India. It was built in 1565 A.D. nine years after the death of Humayun, by his senior widow Bega Begam. Inside the walled enclosure the most notable features are the garden squares (Charbagh) with pathways water channels, centrally located well proportional mausoleum topped by double dome. Delhi / Agra / Day 03

After breakfast drive to Agra. AGRA - The city of the inimitable “TAJ MAHAL”. The architectural splendour of the mausoleums, the fort and the palaces is vivid reminder of the opulence of the legendary Mughal Empire. While its significance as a political center ended with the transfer of the capital to Delhi in 1634 by Shah Jahan, its architectural wealth has secured its place on the international map. Sunrise visit Taj Mahal.  Taj Mahal Taj Mahal or Crown of Palaces is a white marble mausoleum, built by Mughal Emperor Shahjahan as a memorial to his beloved wife Mumtaz Mahal. A world-renowned wonder, Taj Mahal looks the same from all the four sides and is widely recognized as "the jewel of Muslim art in India and one of the universally admired masterpieces of the world's heritage". The Taj Mahal is phenomenal not in the beauty alone but in the deep planning and design that went into its making. This enchanting mausoleum started in 1631 and it took 22 years to complete with the help of an estimated 20000 workers. (It remains closed on Fridays). Note: Since Taj Mahal is a World Heritage Site and hence require some maintenance or restoration work routinely. Return to Hotel for a late breakfast. After breakfast visit Agra Fort.  Agra Fort The great Mughal Emperor Akbar commissioned the construction of the Agra Fort in 1666, A.D. although additions were made till the time of his grandson Shahjahan. The forbidding exteriors of this fort hide an inner paradise. There are a number of exquisite buildings like Moti Masjid - a white marble mosque akin to a perfect pearl; Diwan-I-Am, Diwan-I-Khaas, Musamman Burj - where Shahjahan died in 1666 A.D. Today early morning enjoy a beautiful walk of Ranthambhore Fort Today enjoy an interesting walk to Ranthambore Fort. We will drive through the Jungle, just to reach our starting point of the walk, from where steps to Fort will start. There are more than 300 steps to reach the top of the fort. The height of the fort is approx 200 meters. The walls of the fort are about 7 kilometers in length and include an area of nearly 4 square kilometers. On the way, we will see some ruins of the fort which offers ample opportunities to click pictures. The path to the fort is surrounded by monkeys. You can see monkeys sitting beside you and walking on the wall. During the walk you will see lots of pilgrims heading to the temple and a bustling little local complex of stalls by the temple. Constructed by Raja Man Singh I in 1592 and completed by Mirja Raja Jai Singh, the fort was made in red sand stone and white marble. Amber is the classic and romantic fort-palace with a magnificent aura. The interior wall of the palace depicts expressive painting scenes with carvings, precious stones and mirror settings. Built mainly for the warring enemies as a safe place, the heavily structured walls could defend the residents within the ramparts of the fort. Return back to hotel and relax in the Hotel and rest of the day is at leisure. OR You can go for a nice walk in the countryside. Once you are out of Amer town, you will start your walk in the countryside. The walk takes you on a rural forest track with no urban civilization in the proximity and passing by a medieval stepwell, the Ancient Delhi Gate, and a rescue center for circus tigers (visitors are not allowed inside the rescue centre).The trek through and bordering the Nahargarh Forest Area winds past small village hutments and a pretty medieval temple ending at Dera Amer. After a breakfast enjoy the Jamali Kamali Walk    Start the walk from the main entrance to the Mehrauli Archaeological Park. It is a beautiful 02 hours walk to Jamali Kamali Mosque.  The beautiful and spruced up lawns of Jamali Kamali make it a scenic picnic spot for Delhiites. Jamali Kamali Mosque and Tomb, located in the Archaeological Village complex in Mehrauli, Delhi, India, comprises of two monuments adjacent to each other; one is the mosque and the other is the tomb of two persons with the names Jamali and Kamali. Later, walk half a kilometer to reach Qutub Minar. Qutub Minar - Qutub Minar is a soaring, 73 m-high tower of victory, built in 1193 by Qutab-ud-din Aibak. The tower has five distinct storey’s, each marked by a projecting balcony and tapers from a 15 m diameter at the base to just 2.5 m at the top. The first three storeys are made of red sandstone; the fourth and fifth storey’s are of marble and sandstone. At the foot of the tower is the Quwwat-ul-Islam Mosque, the first mosque to be built in India. A 7 m-high iron pillar stands in the courtyard of the mosque. It is said that if you can encircle it with your hands while standing with your back to it your wish will be fulfilled. Drive to the south of Delhi and enjoy Lunch with a Local Indian Family, where guest will get the opportunity to interact with them. Designed by Lutyens, it combines western and eastern styles.  Photo stop at the India Gate - At the centre of New Delhi stands the 42 m high India Gate, an "Arc-de-Triumph" like archway in the middle of a crossroad. Almost similar to its French counterpart, it commemorates the 70,000 Indian soldiers who lost their lives fighting for the British Army during the World War I. The memorial bears the names of more than 13,516 British and Indian soldiers killed in the Northwestern Frontier in the Afghan war of 1919. Under the arch, the Amar Jawan Jyoti commemorating Indian armed forces’ losses in the Indo-Pakistan war of 1971. Visit the Humayun’s Tomb - Humayun's Tomb is probably one of the most innovative and experimental monuments of its time, incorporating within it Indo-Islamic architectural styles. This magnificent garden tomb is the first substantial example of Mughal architecture in India. It was built in 1565 A.D. nine years after the death of Humayun, by his senior widow Bega Begam. Inside the walled enclosure, the most notable features are the garden squares (Charbagh) with pathways water channels, centrally located well proportional mausoleum topped by double dome. City Palace - Located in the heart of the walled city, the City Palace Complex gives you an idea about the farsightedness of the founder of Jaipur Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh. He left behind a legacy of some of the most imposing and magnificent architecture in the city. Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh built many buildings but some of the structures were also built by later rulers. The palace is a blend of Mughal and Rajput architecture and the ex-royal family still lives in a part of the palace. Jantar Mantar - The Jantar Mantar is a collection of architectural astronomical instruments, built by Maharaja (King) Jai Singh II between 1727 and 1734. It is modelled after the one that he had built for him at Delhi. He had constructed a total of five such facilities at different locations, including the ones at Delhi and Jaipur. The Jaipur Oobservatory is the largest and best preserved of these. It has been inscribed on the World Heritage List as “an expression of the astronomical skills and cosmological concepts of the court of a scholarly prince at the end of the Mughal period”. These type of feudal estates, called 'Thikanas' were sanctioned by the ruling Maharana to a nobleman either due to blood relationship or for an act of bravery. After an early breakfast, enjoy Phulad Train Ride - A ride on the local meter gauge train, down a mountainous Ghat section is interesting for its panoramic views and of the scrub jungle, hills, tunnels 100-foot high bridges and Remote one-man stations. One travels on the Ghat section and here the hundreds of monkeys descend from the forest trees to feed on handouts given by the villagers. Deogarh Village walk - Enjoy the visit to Deogarh Village and watch villagers performing their day to day activities. Watch women around a community well fetching water buckets, washing clothes and carrying water in beautiful matkas (clay pot) on their heads. After breakfast, drive to Udaipur. On the way, enjoy visit of Ranakpur Jain Temples- Considered as one of the five holy places for the Jain community, these were created in the 15th century during the reign of Rana Kumbha. These are enclosed within a wall. The central Chaumukha [four faced temple] is dedicated to Adinathji. The temple is an astounding creation of architectural splendour with 29 halls and 1,444 pillars all distinctly carved, no two pillars being alike. Later drive to Udaipur.  UDAIPUR - The “City of Lakes” was founded in 1559 AD as capital town of the former Mewar state by Maharana Udai Singh on the eastern banks of the Lake Pichola.  The rich cultural, social and natural heritage, aesthetic beauty and ecological richness, so far preserved through the surrounding lakes, serene and opulent hilly range of the Aravalis and lush green vegetation and pleasant gardens and harmonious built forms present a unique condition of scenic beauty. After breakfast visit of the City Palace - City Palace towers over the Pichola Lake. Maharana Udai Singh initiated the construction of the palace but successive Maharanas added several palaces and structures to the complex but retained remarkable uniformity in the design. The entry to the Palace is from the Hathi Pol, the Elephant Gate. The Bari Pol or the Big Gate brings you to the Tripolia, the Triple gate. It was a custom to weigh the Maharaja under this gate in gold and silver, which was distributed to the populace. Balconies, cupolas and towers of the palace give a wonderful view of the lake.  Sahelion ki Bari - Maharana Sangram Singh built this in the mid-18th century. The 'garden of the maidens' brings to mind the lifestyle of the ladies of the court. The delightful gardens reflect their discreet and impeccable taste. There are four pools with dainty kiosks. All around are flowerbeds, lawns, pools and fountains protected by a series of walls and shady trees. The fountains of the Sahelion ki Bari function solely by water pressure and no pumps are used. The garden has a lotus pool and a sitting room decorated with paintings and glass mosaic. Later enjoy visit of Apna Jatan, a local NGO. Slightly further north of the college, you’ll pass another historic building, the 19th-century and the inviting David Sassoon Library, significantly funded by the affluent Jewish businessman, David Sassoon, a good place to escape the heat of the day lazing on planters’ chairs on the upper balcony. Adjacent to the library, on Mahatma Gandhi (MG) Road, is the Army and Navy Building. Worth a look for its fine mid-19th-century neo-classical facade, this building was originally used as a British army navy store. Cross back over to Forbes St to visit the Keneseth Eliyahoo Synagogue before returning to MG Rd and continuing north along the left-hand side so you can admire the vertical Art Deco stylings of the New India Assurance Company Building. In a traffic island ahead lies the pretty Flora Fountain, named after the Roman goddess of abundance. Turn east down Veer Nariman Rd walking towards St Thomas’ Cathedral. Retrace your steps back to Flora Fountain and continue west past the Venetian Gothic-style State Public Works Department. Turn south onto Bhaurao Patil Marg to see the august High Court and the equally venerable and ornately decorated University of Mumbai The façades of both buildings are best observed from within the Oval Maidan. Turn around to compare the colonial edifices with the row of Art Deco beauties lining Maharshi Karve (MK) Rd, culminating in the wedding cake tower of the Eros Cinema, end your walk at Churchgate station. After this interesting walk enjoy the sightseeing of the followings: (Photostop) Dhobi Ghat - A unique feature of Mumbai, the dhobi is a traditional laundryman, who will collect your dirty linen, wash it, and return it neatly pressed to your doorstep. The "laundries" are called "ghats": row upon row of concrete wash pens, each fitted with its own flogging stone. Mani Bhawan - A memorial dedicated to the Father of the Nation, Mahatma Gandhi. He used to stay at House No.19 called Man Bhavan, from time to time between 1917 and 1934.  Hanging Garden - Perched at the top of Malabar Hill, on its western side, just opposite the Kamala Nehru Park, these terraced gardens; also known as Ferozeshah Mehta Gardens, provide lovely sunset views over the Arabian Sea. Drive past Tower of Silence - A peculiar site to visit in Mumbai is the Tower of Silence. Mumbai has a large number of Parsi populations. The Parsis have the custom of leaving their dead in the open. Evening drive through the Marine drive - Built in 1920, Marine Drive runs along the shoreline of the Arabian Sea from Nariman Point to the foot of Malabar Hill. It passes Chowpatty Beach along the way. It's one of Mumbai's most popular romantic spot and sunset view is amazing. Tourist brochures are fond of stating it as the Queen's Necklace, because of the dramatic curve of its streetlights at night. After the sightseeing, enjoy Dinner at Khyber Restaurant. The rare combination of snow-clad peaks and snow fed lakes and rivers has helped to make the valley of Pokhara one of the most picturesque natural attractions in the kingdom. It is one of the best places to admire the great Himalayas peaks from a close distance. Afternoon is reserved for a 03 hour walking excursion to the local villages of Sundar Gaun and Bhimrepani to see the local life and some stunning views of the surrounding Himalayan peaks.

Pokhara / Day 06

Morning enjoy an interesting 03 hour walk to world peace pagoda, situated on the top of a hill. It offers spectacular view of the Annapurna range and Pokhara city. Afternoon is reserved for sightseeing in and around Pokhara followed by boat ride on Phewa Lake.

Morning is reserved for a bird watching tour for about an hour. Later enjoy a walking excursion to the nearby Thuloswara village and Bijaypur River.

Thousands of people gather here daily to buy and sell flowers and plants.  The vivid orange and yellow garlands make for a spectacular splash of color. Howrah Bridge - Howrah Bridge, located over the Hooghly River is said to be the busiest bridge of the world. It got its name owing to the fact that it connects the city of Howrah to Calcutta and is the lifeline of the city. Howrah Bridge is a cantilever truss bridge that was constructed in 1939 with 26,500 tons of steel without using any nuts and bolts and was opened to traffic in 1943 St. Paul's Cathedral Church: - St.Paul's Cathedral is built on the Indo-Gothic style of architecture. Major W.N Forbes of East India Company built it in the year 1847. The height of the Cathedral is 201 feet. Victoria Memorial - A splendid architectural structure was built in the early 20th Century in memory of Queen Victoria by Lord Curzon between 1906 and 1921 and was formally inaugurated by the Prince of Wales. The Victoria Memorial blends the best of the British and Mughal architecture. Mother Teresa House - Nirmal Hriday is the first institution established in 1950 by Mother Teresa under her own Organization Missionaries of Charity. This is the home for dying people. Later she established many other homes in Kolkata like Orphanage, old age people etc.

Kolkata / Dibrugarh (Flight) / Day 03

After breakfast, drive to airport to board flight for Dibrugarh. On arrival at Dibrugarh airport received and transferred to Mancotta/Chowkidinghee Heritage Chang Bungalow. Afternoon take a tea walk in Mancotta Tea Estate. Evening enjoy a dance performance by an ethnic dance group on the bungalow lawns of Mancotta Heritage Chang Bungalow. Tea Tour / Day 04

Today we visit Ethelwold Tea Estate, Mancotta Tea Estate and Mukul Organic Tea Plantation to know all about CTC & Orthodox tea. Also experience of a Tea tasting session of different types of tea with one of the knowledgeable person in the field of tea/practising Estate Manager. A Tea Tour through old heritage tea garden gives an insight into the different activities that vary from season to season. It teaches us all about tea- its origin, how it is grown, tea tasting and its quality. During the winter months, the dormant bushes are pruned to ensure vigorous growth during the warmer months. Once the rains begin, and the temperature rises, the gardens come alive with teams of colourfully dressed tea pluckers, predominantly ladies as they are said to be better able to pluck the delicate buds and leaves. The harvest, which goes on continuously from March to November, is taken every day to the factory where it undergoes an age-old process of being turned into the finished product. All stages of the process are carefully controlled to ensure that the tea that leaves the factory is only of the highest quality, a quality that has made Assam tea world famous. Note: Visit to tea factory is subject to being operational on the day of the visit. There is no tea plucking between December till mid March and hence the actual manufacturing process of tea cannot be demonstrated when one visits the factory during this period. Factory also remains closed on Monday’s of the week.

Dibrugarh – Namphake – Maguri Beel – Dibrugarh / Day 05

Post breakfast drive to Naharkatiya (60 kms/01 ½ hrs) and visit Namphake Village, inhabited by the Tai Phakial people. Visit the Buddhist Monastery at the village and also interact with the local people to know more about their rich tradition and culture. Later drive to Tinsukia (01 hr) and take a boat ride at Maguri Beel on a country boat to see some birdlife. In the evening, we drive back to Dibrugarh (01 ½ hrs) and overnight at Mancotta/Chowkidinghee Heritage Chang Bungalow. Namphake Village is the largest of the Tai-Phake villages in Assam, boasting 70 odd families, which trace their ancestry to the great Tai race. The village folk speak a dialect similar to the language in Thailand and still follow the traditional customs and dress code of the great Tai race. The hamlet is also home to the Namphake Buddhist Monastery, one of the oldest and most respected Buddhist Monasteries in Assam. They are Buddhist in religion. They have their separate scripts and has also preserved in a few manuscripts, which are mainly religious scriptures. These manuscripts are written in Tai- scripts and are preserved in their village Vihars. Tinsukia - The ancient name of Tinsukia was Bangmara and was also originally known as Changmai Pathar. It was the capital of the Muttack Kingdom. Bangmara city was built by King Sarbananda Singha with the help of his Minister Gopinath Barbaruah alias Godha. The city was built originally in the middle of where the present Tinsukia city is situated (near Senairam H.S. School). As legend goes-Sarbananda, Singha asked Godha Baruah to dig a triangular-shaped pond in Bangmara which is now known as “Tinikunia Pukhuri”. In 1884 a Dibru-Sadiya Rail line was constructed, and a station was set up near “Tinikunia Phukhuri”- this was subsequently christened Tinsukia. Since then the city is known as Tinsukia. Maguri-Motapung Beel – is in Tinsukia District of Assam. It is a wetland complex which is part of Dibru Saikhowa and is located just outside the Dibru Saikhowa National Park and Biosphere Reserve. Maguri-Motapung Beel is located in the southern bank of the Dibru River, ‘Beel’ is the local name for a lake with marshy areas around its edges. The Beel is connected to the Dibru River by a system of channels and is very rich in aquatic life especially waterfowl and grassland birds. Best time to visit is November to March. Overnight in the hotel.

Dibrugarh – Pasighat / Day 06

Today we drive to Pasighat (03 hrs) -the home of the Adis, who are remembered for their colourful costumes. Enroute we drive by India’s longest rail cum road bridge – The Bogibeel Bridge built over the mighty Brahmaputra River. On arrival check-in at Abor Country River Camp for 02 nights located on the banks of the Siang River that flows quietly through Pasighat in Arunachal Pradesh, and in the middle of the tropical forest; this is a retreat into the lap of nature. Later in the afternoon visit Adi tribal village. Overnight at the camp.

Pasighat – Damro – Pasighat / Day 07

Today we take a day excursion to Damro. We drive early morning (03 hrs) and later hike from the longest hanging bridge in Arunachal Pradesh and visit Adi Padam Tribal village to learn about their unique Donyi-Polo culture. Later in the afternoon, we drive back to Pasighat from overnight. Built from traditional cane and bamboo, the bridge hangs across the Yamne River. Using canes and wires, it is held between suspension cables with a walkway made of halved bamboos for panelling used as protection. The use of these materials is also the mark of the local tribal culture. This 1000 ft. long suspension bridge is used by the tribal’s to reach the other end of the bridge for their daily activities and livelihood. Overnight at the camp.

Pasighat – Roing -Tinsukia / Day 08

Today after breakfast drive to Roing, Arunachal Pradesh (02 ½ - 03 hrs). At Roing visit the local villages inhabited by the Idu Mishmi tribal people. Interact with the villagers to know more about their rich tradition and culture. Later continue drive to Tinsukia (02 ½ - 03 hrs). Enroute drive by India’s longest river bridge - Dr Bhupen Hazarika Setu also known as the Dhola Sadiya Bridge. On arrival check-in at Wathai Heritage Bungalow, Limbuguri TE for 02 nights. Roing rises from the Himalayan foothills to the middle ranges with the highest point of Mayodia at a height of 2655 meters from mean sea level. Snow-capped peaks, turbulent rivers, mystic valleys and abundance of rich flora & fauna are a few attractions of the district. The district is well known for its largest cover of thick green forest with almost 80% of the area being notified as reserved forest, wildlife sanctuaries or unclassified state forests. Idu Mishmi is the major tribe inhabiting this area along with the Adi Padam tribe in the lower plain areas. The Idu Mishmi tribe is also known as Chulikatas (due to their traditional cropped hair). They build their thatched-roof houses on the slant of the hills or in the forest. Their main festival is Reh. Their dress is remarkable for the wealth and beauty of its design. Most of it is made by them from wood, partly from cotton and sometimes from nettle fiber. They also wear thick coats of black with the white pattern made of nettle fibre and human hair. The abundance of natural beauty, colourful and charming tribes, ancient archaeological sites make the place a perfect destination for nature lovers, adventurous tourists, archaeologists and anthropologists. Steal yourself away to Wathai heritage bungalow, Limbuguri tea estate- this newly added boutique plantation bungalow will allow you to rejuvenate your senses. Tinsukia – Wakro -Tinsukia / Day 09

Today take a full-day excursion to Wakro, Arunachal Pradesh (02 ½ hrs- 03 hrs). Enroute visit Empong Village inhabited by the Khampti tribes and also visit the Golden Pagoda at Chowkham. At Wakro visit the local villages inhabited by the Mishmi Tribe. In the afternoon drive back to Tinsukia and overnight at the Bungalow. Khampti Tribal Village at Empong, Chowkham: Empong village near Chowkham (29 km from Wakro) is a beautiful village enriched by the swiftly flowing Tengapai rivulet and surrounded by lush paddy fields. Tai Khamptis is a subgroup of the Shan race of Sagaing Division in northwestern Burma who migrated to India in the 18th century- hence the Khampti possess East Asian features. They are followers of Theravada Buddhism and have adopted the script of Shan origin, known as Lik-Tai. Their houses are built on raised stilts with a thatched roof. Wooden planks are used for their flooring and split bamboo for the walls. Golden Pagoda at Chowkham is a beautiful Buddhist Pagoda well located near Tengapani river footbridge. Close to it, one can also see a Buddhist Vihara (Temple ) with an image of the Sleeping Buddha. Wakro (maximum valley altitude 2000m) is the homeland of the “Mishmis” one of the Mongoliod tribes of Tibeto-Burman origin. They speak their own dialect which varies from different groups. The three major Mishmi groups are “Idus” “Tarons” and the ‘Kaman's’. Mishmis are very rich in culture and may be termed as a festival loving people. They believe any day of the year is auspicious for a ceremony if provisions exist. On these days animals are sacrificed. Mishmis are nature worshipers. Mishmi is the inhabitants of Lohit Districts and the border area of adjoining district. Mishmis are animist and believe in a number of higher spiritual beings. Kabeya or Pharai in their traditional village council who exercise the judgment of any disputes comes to their society. The Mishmi society is divided into numbers of sub-tribes such as Idu -Mishmis, Digaru Mishmi, Miju Mishmi with more or less distinctive characters on its dresses among themselves. This tribe can be easily distinguished from others by their typical hairstyle. Their dresses reflect the artistic taste and the cultural thinking of the society. The male dress of Miju and Digaru consists of a sleeveless black or maroon coloured cloth with ornamental borders and waistcloth with an embroidered flag in the front. They wear a headdress of woven cane. The women wear black skirts with coloured stripes reaching above the ankle and a beautifully embroidered bodice and a shawl. They also wear beautiful ornaments made of silver. The women keep themselves busy in weaving. The men are involved in making cane and bamboo products. The puffing of opium with the help of silver or wooden pipes by both men and women is the part and parcel of their tradition. These people may be termed as a festive tribe. Reh is the most important festivals celebrated by Idu-Mishmis during 1st week of February. Overnight in the hotel.

Tinsukia – Sivasagar – Majuli / Day 10

Today post breakfast we drive to Jorhat (180 km / 04 ½ -05 hrs). En-route we visit the Ahom monuments and temples at Sivasagar which encompass the 600-year-old history of the Ahom Dynasty. Later post lunch drive to Neematighat to board the country boat to ABN Charaidew I- Floating Heritage hotel on the Brahmaputra. Check-in for 02 nights Sivasagar was once the capital of the Ahom Kings. The Shans who came from Thailand through Northern Myanmar to this area in the early 13th century ruled from here for 600 years. Thus the ruins of Ahom palaces and monuments dot the landscape around this historical town. The Siva Temple situated in Sibsagar was built by the Ahoms and is believed to be the tallest of all existing Hindu temples. Centuries, before the arrival of the British, this part of the world was controlled by a number of tribal chieftains. Overnight in the cruise ship.

Majuli Island / Day 11

Today, after breakfast, board your country boat, which will take you to Majuli Island (approx 1 ½ Hrs boat ride), one of the world’s largest river islands. Majuli Island, inhabited by Mising tribes, Deori and Sonowal Kachari tribes, is considered to be the heartland of Assamese culture. The great 15th-century Assamese saint and reformer, SrimantaSankardev had come down here and set up ‘satras’ or ‘monasteries’ preaching a monotheist branch of Hinduism called Vaishnavism, which motivated and established a socio-religious movement that ultimately shaped the island’s Assamese society and culture into what it is today. Majuli means "land amid two rivers". Strewed along the flowing mighty Brahmaputra River, Majuli is the biggest Island which is encapsulated by the Brahmaputra River. This beautiful island which is home to diverse tribal communities which includes Deoris, Sonowal Kacharis and Misings. This sacred island is a conglomeration of spectacular views of beautiful wooden boats, rustic countryside side, the lush green paddy fields, extended water body and vibrant culture. It is also the cultural and art hotspot of Assamese Vaishnavite philosophy. Late in the afternoon, transfer point country boat will be waiting for you. Overnight in the cruise ship.

Majuli – Kaziranga / Day 12

After breakfast board your country boat to Neamati Ghat (01 ½ hrs). Later continue drive to Kaziranga (02 hrs). On arrival check-in at hotel for 02 nights. Later in the afternoon visit a local tribal village (Durgapur) and Orchid Park cum and Biodiversity Conservation Centre at Kaziranga. The Kaziranga Orchid Park cum Biodiversity Conservation Centre is spread across 6.5 acres of land. It also has a photo gallery of 500 orchids, a greenhouse, lakes with boating and angling facilities and small tree-houses, among other attractions. The purpose of opening this park was to conserve local varieties of orchids, flowers, fruits, fish and also to spread cultural awareness knowledge. Kaziranga National Park - Kaziranga National Park - is a World Heritage Site, where more than 75% of the world’s total population of the great Indian One Horned Rhinoceros can be found. It lies on the southern bank of the Brahmaputra River and is one of the oldest parks of Assam. Besides rhinos, the Asiatic Water Buffalo, Elephants, Royal Bengal Tigers, Swamp deer, Barking deer and Hog deer can be seen. About 400 species of birds are found in Kaziranga National Park. To name a few- Swamp Francolin, Great Hornbill, Pallas Fish Eagle, Pied Falconets, Greater Adjutant Stork, Long-Billed Vulture. Note: Forest Dept. will declare opening of National Park for Safari in October keeping the weather and other factors in mind. Incase park is opened in October there is limited access as full access to all the ranges are normally not permitted due to weather and road condition. Alternatively, 01 November to 30 April is confirmed date for the opening of the park.

Kaziranga National Park / Day 13

Elephant safari for foreign nationals are held only on Kaziranga Range, Kohora (Central Range) Allocation of elephant riding seats and timings are regulated by the forest department, Kaziranga National Park, Government of Assam. The tickets for the same are issued only on the previous evening of the ride after 7:30 PM. subject to availability. It starts very early in the morning and continues for approx 45 minutes. It is the best way to explore the wide variety of wildlife in Kaziranga National Park. The park is covered by elephant grass which is very high and so the view from elephant back is perfect! During the safari one can see herds of Indian Elephants, One-horned Rhinoceros at a very close distance. This proximity to wild animals in Kaziranga National Park makes the trip memorable and thrilling. The elephant safari takes place in the central range of the park and one gets good views of the rhino while traversing through its terrain of swamps and tall grass. It is also great for early morning photography of rhinos in the mist. There are good chances of seeing the Bengal Florican from elephant back. JEEP SAFARI- Forenoon: Entry time between 0730 to 1000 Hours. No entry after 1000 Hrs Afternoon: Entry time between 1330 to 1500 Hours. No entry after 1500 Hrs . Jeep Safaris are permitted on pre-defined tourist circuits within Kaziranga National Park- currently at the following four points. Jeep Safari may be cancelled / curtailed due to any reason by the Park Authorities without prior notice.

Kaziranga -Tezpur – Guwahati / Day 14

Post breakfast drive to Guwahati (04 ½ -05 hrs). Enroute at Koliabhomora Bridge, Tezpur go for Dolphin boat Safari. On arrival at Guwahati visit Sualkuchi – One of the largest weaving village where the entire population is engaged in weaving exquisite silk fabrics. Check-in at the hotel for overnight. The Dolphin Boat ride near the Koliabhomora Bridge, Tezpur is a good option for the boat ride lovers. A wonderful way to spend a day is to take an outing on a traditional country boat and go spotting endangered freshwater Gangetic Dolphins, reputed to have the most powerful sonic sense among all species in the world. Enjoy the boat ride on the country boat in the mighty Brahmaputra River for a peaceful cruise down the river and witness the grandeur of the Koliabhomora bridge connecting the north bank with the south bank of Assam. During the boat ride, almost everyone spots the dolphins frolicking and feeding in the river, as well as many different species of birds. The chances of sighting of the Gangetic River Dolphins are very high and to a great extent can be guaranteed. Cruise up to a beach island and spend some good time amid the mighty Brahmaputra River on the small river island with some light refreshments. Sualkuchi located on the banks of the Brahmaputra, 35 km north of Guwahati, Sualkuchi is a weaving village that produces some of the best silk in the state. This sleepy little village exudes a charm like no other. Almost every house has an adjacent shed (karkhana) that houses the traditional bamboo loom-the gentle click-clacking of which can be heard from the streets. You can walk into any of the numerous karkhanas and observe the talented weavers weaving intricate patterns on the golden Muga silk. In the early years of the 20th century, Sualkuchi was developed as a “crafts village”. Most of the funds for this development work came from eminent Gandhians across the country who responded to the “back to the villages” slogan of Gandhiji’s swadeshi drive. Although the weaving industry of Sualkuchi remained almost confined to the tanti community until the 1930s, with encouragement from the government, people from other communities also took up silk weaving. There are about 17000 silk looms in Sualkuchi producing an eclectic range of silk products. Most of Sualkuchi’s silk is woven into Mekhela-chadars and Gamosas. After the visit, continue drive to Guwahati. On arrival, check in the hotel. Overnight in the hotel.

Guwahati – Kolkata / Day 15

In time transfer to Guwahati airport to board flight for Kolkata. Time permitting option to visit famous Kamakhya Temple prior to fly out. Kamakhya Temple situated atop the Nilachal hills, the foremost shrine of Assam, Kamakhya Temple dominates Guwahati, as much as the great Brahmaputra river. After an early breakfast take a walk in the fish market of Negombo, boiling daily (except Sunday because here the population is predominantly Christian). Your culinary guide chooses with you the fish that you will prepare together for lunch. Discover how to make Sri Lanka's most typical meal, the "Rice & Curry" made from fish curry. Sigiriya – Excursion to Dambulla & Minneriya / Day 03

After breakfast leave to Dambulla to visit the UNESCO-protected Golden Temple with its Buddhist caves perched on top of a hill. You will discover incredible murals, statues of Buddha, all scattered in 5 caves. Also enjoy the beautiful panorama of the surroundings. Later In the evening, go downtown to Dambulla's wholesale vegetable market, open 24 hours a day. This is where all the vegetables of the country pass. After lunch, drive to Minneriya National Park for a jeep safari. This park is famous for its population of elephants that you will see - with a little luck - by the hundreds, depending on the season After safari drive back to the hotel. Overnight at the hotel.

Sigiriya / Polonnaruwa / Batticaloa / Day 04

Early morning as the sun rises, to avoid the crowds, you visit Sigiriya's "Lion Rock", whose massive rock overlooks the village of its 200 meters high. Your guide will make you discover the different parts of the site, the cave with the frescoes of Demoiselles, the gardens and ruins of Kasyapa Palace at the top. This site owes its reputation to this megalomaniac king who built his residence in the tenth century. Classified at UNESCO, it is the most visited site in Sri Lanka. You have lunch in one of the surrounding villages in the middle of the rice fields where you will observe cooking over a wood fire. Finish your journey in the Cultural Triangle with the discovery of Polonnaruwa, ancient city that was the royal capital of Sri Lanka during the eleventh and twelfth centuries, and extends over ten km. You visit the ruins of palaces, temples, but especially Kalu Gal Vihara, a set of 4 statues of Buddha carved in granite. You have the opportunity to browse the site by bike. Then you take the road to Batticaloa, a small town on the east coast. This city, deserted by the majority of tourists because of the Tsunami and conflicts during the civil war, yet has many undeniable attractions. On arrival in Batticaloa, transfer to the hotel. Batticaloa / Day 05

Breakfast at Batticaloa, you are in Tamil territory, where the culture and cuisine are a little different from your previous stages. Your culinary guide will pick you up and take you to the local market to choose the ingredients that will be used to prepare lunch. In the afternoon, you visit the area around Batticaloa and finish with a fishing course with local fishermen.

After breakfast you will chauffeured to the mountains , When you arrive in Ella, you go to the Halpewatte tea factory where you will learn more about the work of the pickers and the making of this drink so appreciated in the world. If you have the time and the desire, we recommend a half-day hike through the plantations to meet the pickers and drink tea with them. Overnight at the hotel.

Ella / Nanu Oya (Train) / Nuwara Eliya / Day 07

After breakfast enjoy the Highlights of Ella - Start your tour of Ella by viewing the famous Demodara nine arch railway bridge constructed with stones, brick and cement, but without any steel. Later proceed to climb Little Adams peak named after the more famous and arduous Adam’s peak due to its close resemblance. A 40 min walk to the base of the hill followed by some climbing will take you to the top of the 1140 meter peak. Afternoon leave from Ella Station to the Nanu Oya Station to hop on to the train for your train journey, on your journey you could witness the most exciting and scenic train journeys on the island. Grey stone cliffs and rivers will flash past your window with occasional views of enormous waterfalls cascading down the mountainside while the train keeps winding its way around tea covered mountains. Morning Transfer to Anuradhapura The sacred city of Anuradhapura, founded around 5th century BC was the first capital of the island. Remaining so for over a millennium it is classified as one of the greatest civilizations of its kind. Anuradhapura, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is sacred to Buddhists as it was established around a cutting from the fig tree under which Lord Buddha gained enlightenment. Visitors will be amazed with the preserved remains of ancient Anuradhapura, which give an insight as to how people lived in this great city back in the day. Remarkable monuments, restored edifices, parks, irrigation lakes and ancient stupas are just some of the many wonders that Anuradhapura has to offer. Evening Excursion - Mihintale - The Cradle of Buddhism Mihintale, translates as Mahindra’s Mountain; It was on the summit of this mountain that the great Sinhalese king Devanampiyatissa was converted to Buddhism by Arahat Mahinda, the son of the last Buddhist emperor of India. The best time to climb the mountain is early morning or late afternoon when it is not so hot. A climb of 1840 small steps will take you to the summit of the sacred mountain. In the morning you will ride to Sri Lanka’s most famous landmark, Sigiriya Rock, rising 370m above the jungle is an ancient fortress surrounded by extensive gardens. Sigiriya is world famous of its frescoes, mirror wall and lion’s paw. You will ride around the Sigiriya rock and nearby Sigiriya village.  As an optional activity you could enjoy the jeep safari in Kaudulla or Minneriya National parks, and also a special elephant ride across Habarana village. Trincomalee / Day 03

Riding to the East coast, you will arrive at Trincomalee which is famous for its beautiful sandy beaches and for the natural harbour. You will visit Koneswaram Hindu Temple, Dutch Fort and Pigeon Island National Park. In the morning you will get the chance to see the alluring view of sunrise from the East coast of Sri Lanka. Polonnaruwa / Day 04

Next, you will ride to Polonnaruwa, an ancient capital where you will gain knowledge about the history of Sri Lanka. You will visit ancient temples, palaces and huge water reservoirs built by ancient kings where they will tell you the stories about the glorious history of Polonnaruwa. Mahiyanganaya / Day 05

You will strike out for the east leaving the historic Polonnaruwa riding through the lush mountain terrain. Passing the borders of Angammedilla National Park viewing the Knuckles Mountain Range you will arrive at Mahiyanganaya city. D ambience, a nearby village in Mahiyanganaya is home for indigenous Vedda People of Sri Lanka. In the evening, you will enjoy the nature walk and traditional Vedda dancing. Knuckles Mountains / Day 06

From Mahiyanganaya, you will head towards the west, up to Sri Lanka’s mountainous escarpment and tea country. You will see the mountain range rising through the sky like a clenched fist. The entire area is characterized by its striking landscapes often robed in thick layers of clouds and mist. Knuckles Conservation Forest, which is a UNESCO world heritage site, is considered as a super biodiversity hotspot in Sri Lanka. You will hike in the Knuckles Mountains watching nature and enjoying a bathing experience in waterfalls. Collecting plenty of lifetime memories you will stay the overnight night in Knuckles’ Mountains.

Kandy / Day 07-08

In Kandy, you will visit first “Arthur’s seat” where you can perceive the territory beneath in the bird’s eye view including the Temple of Tooth. Most tourists prefer enjoying lunch or sip a beer nearby restaurant. Next, we lead you to the Tooth Relic Temple which is supposed to be the most precious place of Buddhist people. Haputale via Nuwara Eliya / Day 09

Leaving Kandy, you will head to Nuwara Eliya city, known as Little England by British Colonials where they used to stay here to escape from the scorching heat of the lowlands. In Nuwara Eliya, you will get the chance to see several buildings with colonial-era architectural style. Next, you will saddle up again to another adventure ride to Horton Plains National Park, a UNESCO world heritage site which consists of ecosystems such as montane evergreen forests, grasslands, marshy lands and aquatic ecosystem and also an endemic flora and fauna. You will hike in Horton Plains to visit the World’s End where the plateau comes to a sudden end, a stunning escarpment that plunges 880m. Next, you will descend to Haputale where you will stay overnight

Kitulgala / Day 10

After breakfast, you will saddle up and set off on the back roads for the long climb up to Lipton’s Seat tea trail in Haputale. There you will have a bird’s eye view of 5 provinces of Sri Lanka. The ride up to Lipton’s Seat will be an adventure with a breathtaking view of highlands of Sri Lanka. From Haputale you will ride directly to Kitulgala where you will experience white water rafting in Kelani river. Overnight stay in a hotel near Kelani River in Kitulgala.

The best time to visit is the feeding time from 0930-1000 hrs and 1330-1400 hrs and the bathing time from 1000-1030 hrs and 1400-1430 hrs when all the elephants are taken to the river close by. On the way enjoy the visit of Dambulla Cave Temple - Dambulla is a popular tourist destination in Sri Lanka, which belongs to north-central province. Early in the morning proceed to Yala National Park with packed breakfasts to experience the Wildlife in Sri Lanka. Yala National park, which is the largest in Sri Lanka and home to all the big mammals found in the country. Elephant, the leopard, sloth bear, spotted deer (chital), wild boar and sambar deer all inhabit the park, although as in all wildlife experiences, the sightings of some species depend on a degree of good fortune. Evening, go for a village walk by the lake in Thissamaharama - Drive to the beautiful Tissamaharama Lake where you walk for approximately 01 hours (approx. 2km). Yala / Colombo / Day 07

After breakfast, proceed to Galle and visit Galle city. Galle - Galle was once the chief port of Sri Lanka. It is still well known for hand-made lace. Galle Fort (spanning 90 acres) which was originally built by the Portuguese and later extended by the Dutch in 1663. This is also a World Heritage site. The seaside town of Galle is 116 Km away from Colombo by road or rail, down the south coast of Sri Lanka. Both routes are picturesque, following the coastline closely for much of the way. You can also take the Southern Expressway if you need to reach the city by half the time but there is not much scenery to admire. Thereafter, continue the journey towards Colombo. Yala / Colombo / Day 08

After breakfast visit Colombo city - Colombo is a place for you to have a city tour with its modern and historical blend. There are places like Museum, Dutch Hospital, BMICH, Independence Square, Clock tower, Galle face etc to visit. The busiest place in Sri Lanka is Colombo, the commercial capital of the country. Colombo is a beautiful city with modern high rise buildings amidst old colonial ones making it a picturesque place. Later transfer to the airport to board the flight back home. Negombo / Day 01

Arriving at Katunayake airport, you will be transferred to the hotel where you can enjoy the interesting coastal town of Negombo. As the first exercise, you will visit the fishing village and return to rest. Overnight stay in Negombo.

Sigiriya & Dambulla / Day 02

In the morning you will ride to Sri Lanka’s most famous landmark, Sigiriya Rock, rising 370m above the jungle is an ancient fortress surrounded by extensive gardens. Sigiriya is world-famous of its frescoes, mirror wall and lion’s paw. You will ride around the Sigiriya rock and nearby Sigiriya village. Riding to the East coast, you will arrive at Trincomalee which is famous for its beautiful sandy beaches and for the natural harbour. Knuckles Mountains / Day 06

From Mahiyanganaya, you will head towards the west, up to Sri Lanka’s mountainous escarpment and tea country. You will see the mountain range rising through the sky like a clenched fist. Knuckles Conservation Forest, which is a UNESCO world heritage site, is considered as a super biodiversity hotspot in Sri Lanka. Kandy / Day 07

Haputale via Nuwara Eliya / Day 09

Leaving Kandy, you will head to Nuwara Eliya city, known as Little England by British Colonials where they used to stay here to escape from the scorching heat of the lowlands. In Nuwara Eliya, you will get the chance to see several buildings with colonial-era architectural style. Next, you will saddle up again to another adventure ride to Horton Plains National Park, a UNESCO world heritage site which consists of ecosystems such as montane evergreen forests, grasslands, marshy lands and aquatic ecosystem and also an endemic flora and fauna. You will hike in Horton Plains to visit the World’s End where the plateau comes to a sudden end, a stunning escarpment that plunges 880m. Next, you will descend to Haputale where you will stay overnight.

Kitulgala / Day 10

After breakfast, you will saddle up and set off on the back roads for the long climb up to Lipton’s Seat tea trail in Haputale. There you will have a bird’s eye view of 5 provinces of Sri Lanka. It got its name owing to the fact that it connects the city of Howrah to Calcutta and is the lifeline of the city. Howrah Bridge is a cantilever truss bridge that was constructed in 1939 with 26,500 tons of steel without using any nuts and bolts and was opened to traffic in 1943.

Kumartuli Kumartuli is India's only potter's town. Every lane and by lane of Kumartuli will have houses which have been converted into platforms where artists work round the clock to develop clay idols of the deities of the Hindu pantheon like Durga, Kali, Saraswati, Ganesha etc.

Victoria Memorial The Victoria Memorial blends the best of the British and Mughal architecture. It is interesting to note that the Victoria Memorial was built without British government funds. Today it is a museum having an assortment of Victoria memorabilia, British Raj paintings and other displays. At present it has notable collection of weapons, sculptors, paintings, maps, coins, stamps, artefacts, textiles etc. Imp: It is closed on Mondays.

Mother Teresa House Nirmal Hriday is the first institution established in 1950 by Mother Teresa under her own Organization Missionaries of Charity. This is the home for dying people. Tiger Hill The highest spot in the area at 2590m, Tiger Hill is near Ghoom, about 11km from Darjeeling. The hill is famous for its magnificent dawn views over Kanchenjunga and other eastern Himalayan peaks. On a clear day even Mount Everest is visible.

Ghoom Monastery More correctly known as Yogachoeling Gompa, this is probably the most famous monastery in Darjeeling and is about 8 km south of town, just below Hill Cart road and the train station near Ghoom. It enshrines an image of the Maitreya Buddha. Foreigners are allowed to enter the shrine and take photographs. As Ghoom is frequently swathed in mists, and the monastery is old and dark, it is often affectionately called Gloom monastery.

Toy Train Ride A visit to Darjeeling is incomplete without a ride in the toy-train of Darjeeling Himalayan Railway (DHR). The miniature train, given heritage status by UNESCO, covers the distance of 88 km between New Jalpaiguri station and Darjeeling. This fascinating narrow gauge steam engine train still operates with the original steam engine and the loops and the zigzags along the route are remarkable feats of engineering.

Himalayan Mountaineering Institute & Museum (closed on Thursday) About two km from the town, the HMI runs courses to train mountaineers, and maintains a couple of interesting museums. The Mountaineering Museum contains a collection of historic mountaineering equipment, specimens of Himalayan flora and fauna and a relief model of the Himalaya. The Everest Museum next door traces the history of attempts on the great peak.

Himalayan Zoological Park (closed on Thursday) This zoo was established in 1958 with the objectives of study, conservation and preservation of Himalayan fauna. The animals are well cared by dedicated keepers.

Tibetan Refugee Centre (closed on Sunday) Established in 1959, the centre comprises a home for the aged, and orphanage, school, hospital and craft workshops that produce carpets of pure ladakhi wool, woodcarving, leather work and wool items.

Zong Dog Palri Fo-Brang Gompa, five km south of the town centre at the end of the ridge, was built in the mid - 1970s at Durpin Dara Hill and was consecrated by the Dalai Lama. There are impressive wall paintings in the prayer room, and a rare three-dimensional mandala upstairs.

Established in 1922, the Tharpa Choling Gompa belongs to the Yellow Hat Sect of Tibetan Buddhism, founded in the Tibet in the 14th century and to which the Dalai Lama belongs. Lower down the hill, the Thongsa Gompa, of Bhutanese Monastery, is the oldest monastery in the area and was founded in 1692. The present building is not so old - the Gurkhas in their rampage destroyed the original across Sikkim before the arrival of the British.

Flower Nuseries

Kalimpong produces 80% of India's gladiolas and is an important orchid - growing area; flowers are exported from here to many cities in northern India. National Library Housing an extensive collection of priceless Buddhist manuscripts; the Institute for Zorig Chusum (closed on Saturday & Sunday) commonly known as the Painting School where students undergo a 6-year training course in Bhutan’s 13 traditional arts and crafts.

Punakha / 05 - 06 Mar 2020

After breakfast drive to Punakha with a short stop at Dochula pass (3,080m) stopping briefly here to take in the view and admire the chorten, Mani wall, and prayer flags which decorate the highest point on the road. If skies are clear, the following peaks can be seen from this pass (left to right): Masagang (7,158m), Tsendagang (6,960m), Terigang (7,060m ), Jejegangphugang (7,158 m ), Kangphugang (7,170 m ), Zongphugang (7, 060 m ), a table mountain that dominates the isolated region of Lunana - finally Gangkar puensum, the highest peak in Bhutan at 7,497m.

Later, on the way to punakha visit Fertility Temple or Chimmi Lhakhang, ‘Chimmi’ literally means ‘No Dog’. The 15th century Buddhist Master Drukpa Kinley (Divine Mad man) reached the place chasing the demon from Do Chula who took the form of a dog.

A Tsechu is a Buddhist festival in honour of Guru Rimpoche, the saint who brought Buddhism to Bhutan. Locals gather in a spirit of festivity, celebration and deep faith to witness unique masked dances and celebrations. The Tsechu is one of the best ways to experience the ancient living culture of Bhutan.

Afternoon in Paro visit Ta Dzong, (Closed on Sunday & Mondays) the National Museum of the Kingdom. Afterwards, walk down a hillside trail to visit Rinpung Dzong. Built in 1646 by Shabdrung Ngawang Namgyal, the first spiritual and temporal ruler of Bhutan, the Dzong houses the monastic body of Paro, the office of the Dzongda (district administrative head) and Thrimpon (judge) of Paro district.

DELHI - It is a city that bridges two different worlds. Old Delhi, once the capital of Islamic India, is a labyrinth of narrow lanes lined with crumbling havelis and formidable mosques. In contrast, the imperial city of New Delhi created by the British Raj is composed of spacious, tree-lined avenues and imposing government buildings. Delhi has been the seat of power for several rulers and many empires for about a millennium. Many a times the city was built, destroyed and then rebuilt here. Interestingly, a number of Delhi's rulers played a dual role, first as destroyers and then as creators. Overnight at the hotel. After breakfast, enjoy visit of Delhi including following: Red Fort ( Drive Past ) The Red Fort, Shah Jahan's elegant citadel in red sandstone, was built on the western bank of the river Yamuna. Shahjahan, started the construction of this massive fort in 1638, when he shifted the capital from Agra to Delhi. The Red sandstone walls of the massive Red Fort rise 33-m above the clamor of Old Delhi as a reminder of the magnificent power and pomp of the Mughals. Inside is a veritable treasure trove of buildings, including the Drum House, the Hall of Public and Private Audiences, the Pearl Mosque, Royal Baths and Palace of Color. (It remains closed on Mondays). Jama Masjid This great mosque of Old Delhi is the largest in India, with a courtyard capable of holding 25,000 devotees. It was begun in 1644 and ended up being the final architectural extravagance of Shah Jahan, the Mughal emperor who built the Taj Mahal and the Red Fort. The highly decorative mosque has three great gates, four towers and two 40 m-high minarets constructed of strips of red sandstone and white marble. The interior of the prayer hall is divided into aisles by arches. The walls and floors are of marble inlay panels. Raj Ghat Raj Ghat is a memorial to Mahatma Gandhi. It is a black marble platform that marks the spot of Mahatma Gandhi's cremation, on 31 January 1948, a day after his assassination. It is left open to the sky while an eternal flame burns perpetually at one end. It is located on the banks of the river Yamuna in Delhi on Ring Road officially known as Mahatma Gandhi Road. A stone footpath flanked by lawns leads to the walled enclosure that houses the memorial. Photo Stop at India Gate At the centre of New Delhi stands the 42 m high India Gate, an "Arc-de-Triumph" like archway in the middle of a crossroad. Almost similar to its French counterpart, it commemorates the 70,000 Indian soldiers who lost their lives fighting for the British Army during the World War I. The memorial bears the names of more than 13,516 British and Indian soldiers killed in the Northwestern Frontier in the Afghan war of 1919. Under the arch, the Amar Jawan Jyoti commemorating Indian armed forces’ losses in the Indo-Pakistan war of 1971. Drive past by Govt. Buildings New Delhi houses several government buildings and official residences reminiscent of the British colonial architecture. Today we will drive past few of them, like The Parliament House, designed by Baker is 173m in diameter, the Rashtrapati Bhawan once the Viceroy’s residence is now the official residence of the President of India. Designed by Lutyens, it combines western and eastern styles. Humayun Tomb Humayun's Tomb is probably one of the most innovative and experimental monuments of its time, incorporating within it Indo-Islamic architectural styles. This magnificent garden tomb is the first substantial example of Mughal architecture in India. It was built in 1565 A.D. nine years after the death of Humayun, by his senior widow Bega Begam. Inside the walled enclosure the most notable features are the garden squares (Charbagh) with pathways water channels, centrally located well proportional mausoleum topped by double dome. Agra / Day 3 - 4

After breakfast drive to Agra. Agra stands on the right bank of the river Yamuna, was once the seat of the Mughal rulers, the zenith of art and an enshrined romance. Agra is a town famous for its beautiful medieval monuments. The passion of the Mughals for building endowed it with some of the loveliest buildings in the world. On arrival in Agra, check in at hotel. Later enjoy the sightseeing of Agra including following: Agra Fort The great Mughal Emperor Akbar commissioned the construction of the Agra Fort in 1666, A.D. although additions were made till the time of his grandson Shahjahan. The forbidding exteriors of this fort hide an inner paradise. There are a number of exquisite buildings like Moti Masjid - a white marble mosque akin to a perfect pearl; Diwan-I-Am, Diwan-I-Khaas, Musamman Burj - where Shahjahan died in 1666 A.D. Jahangir's Palace; Khaas Mahal and Shish Mahal. The massive Agra fort is 2.5 km long and is considered as the predecessor of the Delhi Red fort. Taj Mahal Taj Mahal or Crown of Palaces is a white marble mausoleum, built by Mughal Emperor Shahjahan as a memorial to his beloved wife Mumtaz Mahal. A world-renowned wonder, Taj Mahal looks the same from all the four sides and is widely recognized as "the jewel of Muslim art in India and one of the universally admired masterpieces of the world's heritage". The Taj Mahal is phenomenal not in the beauty alone but in the deep planning and design that went into its making. This enchanting mausoleum started in 1631 and it took 22 years to complete with the help of an estimated 20000 workers. (It remains closed on Fridays). Post visit, drive to Jaipur. Maharaja Jai Singh II built Jaipur in the 18th century. It is a planned city built with ancient Hindu rules as the colonial capital of a richly colorful state. Jaipur / Day 5 - 6

After having breakfast enjoy visit of Jaipur including following: Elephant / Jeep ride at Amber Fort (one way) The Amber Fort set in picturesque and rugged hills is a fascinating blend of Hindu and Mughal architecture. Constructed by Raja Man Singh I in 1592 and completed by Mirja Raja Jai Singh, the fort was made in red sand stone and white marble. Amber is the classic and romantic fort-palace with a magnificent aura. The interior wall of the palace depicts expressive painting scenes with carvings, precious stones and mirror settings. Built mainly for the warring enemies as a safe place, the heavily structured walls could defend the residents within the ramparts of the fort. Hawa Mahal Palace ( Drive Past ) The poet king Sawai Pratap Singh built this palace of winds. This is easily the most well-known landmarks of Jaipur and is also its icon. This five-storey building overlooking the busy bazaar street is a fascinating example of Rajput architecture and artistry with its delicately honeycombed 953 pink sandstone windows known as 'jharokhas'. It was originally built for the ladies of the royal household to watch everyday life and processions in the city from their veiled comfort. City Palace Located in the heart of the walled city, the City Palace Complex gives you an idea about the farsightedness of the founder of Jaipur Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh. He left behind a legacy of some of the most imposing and magnificent architecture in the city. Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh built many buildings but some of the structures were also built by later rulers. The palace is a blend of Mughal and Rajput architecture and the ex-royal family still lives in a part of the palace. Jantar Mantar The Jantar Mantar is a collection of architectural astronomical instruments, built by Maharaja (King) Jai Singh II between 1727 and 1734. It is modeled after the one that he had built for him at Delhi. He had constructed a total of five such facilities at different locations, including the ones at Delhi and Jaipur. The Jaipur observatory is the largest and best preserved of these. It has been inscribed on the World Heritage List as "an expression of the astronomical skills and cosmological concepts of the court of a scholarly prince at the end of the Mughal period". Overnight at the hotel. After breakfast, you will be picked up and transferred to a local place / hotel to celebrate Holi. Holi Music and dance will take around the Garden. Enjoy the festival and then have lunch. Post celebrations transfer back to hotel. Overnight at the hotel.

Jodhpur / Day 07

Drive to Luni. On the way visit the Jodhpur. Set at the edge of the Thar desert, the imperial city of Jodhpur echoes with tales of antiquity in the emptiness of the desert. Once the capital of the Marwar state, it was founded in 1459 A.D. by Rao Jodha-chief of the Rathore clan of Rajputs who claimed to be descendants of Rama - the epic hero of the Ramayana. On arrival visit the impressive Mehrangarh Fort on a 37 m low sandstone hill built by Rao Jodha in 1459 of red sandstone. From the top of the fort one can get a bird's eye view of the old city. You will notice the predominance of blue houses referred to as Brahmin houses - the colour being associated with the high caste. Later proceed to the Jaswant Thada, an imposing marble cenotaph built in 1899 for Maharajah Jaswant Singh II, and smaller memorials to other Maharajahs of Jodhpur.After the sight seeing, drive to Luni for an overnight stay in a beautiful Fort now a hotel. Udaipur / Day 08 - 09

After breakfast drive to Udaipur. En-route visiting Ranakpur On arrival visit Ranakpur, the wonderful three temples of the Jain sect dating back to the 14th /15th century. The unforgettable main Temple dedicated to Adinatha the first Tirthankar (1439) built in marble took 65 years to complete. It is one of the five holy Jain pilgrimage centres, and has one of the best temple complexes. Later continue your drive to Udaipur. Udaipur lies in the Girwa valley amidst the Aravali hills of south Rajasthan. Considered a romantic city - with its lakes, gardens, temples and palaces - an Oasis in the Thar Desert. The old city is a traditionally planned fortified walled city, a maze of narrow winding lanes flanked by houses with doorways decorated with Mewar folk art, windows with stained glass or jali screens, massive havelis with large inner courtyards and shops. The legendary Ranas who ruled, traced their ancestry to the Sun Dynasty. On arrival, transfer to the hotel and check in. Overnight at the Hotel. After breakfast enjoy visit of Udaipur including following: City Palace City Palace towers over the Pichola Lake. Maharana Udai Singh initiated the construction of the palace but successive Maharanas added several palaces and structures to the complex but retained remarkable uniformity in the design. The entry to the Palace is from the Hathi Pol, the Elephant Gate. The Bari Pol or the Big Gate brings you to the Tripolia, the Triple gate. It was a custom to weigh the Maharaja under this gate in gold and silver, which was distributed to the populace. Balconies, cupolas and towers of the palace give a wonderful view of the lake. Jagdish Temple Jagdish Temple is one of the famous temples of Udaipur. Located in the City Palace complex of Udaipur, this temple is made in the Indo-Aryan style of architecture. In 1651, Jagdish temple was built by Maharana Jagat Singh, who ruled Udaipur during 1628-53. The temple is dedicated to Lord Vishnu (Laxmi Narayan), the preserver of the Universe. It is celebrated for being the largest temple in the city of Udaipur. The gateway of this temple can be sited at a distance of 150 meters from the Bara Pol of the City Palace. Sahelion ki bari Maharana Sangram Singh built this in the mid-18th century. The 'garden of the maidens' brings to mind the lifestyle of the ladies of the court. The delightful gardens reflect their discreet and impeccable taste. There are four pools with dainty kiosks. All around are flowerbeds, lawns, pools and fountains protected by a series of walls and shady trees. The fountains of the Sahelion ki bari function solely by water pressure and no pumps are used. The garden has a lotus pool and a sitting room decorated with paintings and glass mosaic. Public Boat ride on lake Pichola. Evening boat ride on Lake Pichola. Lake Pichola: Fringed with hills, gardens, havelis, ghats and temples, Lake Pichola is the scenic focus of Udaipur. The picturesque boat ride on Lake Pichola not only provides the best scenic view of the lake and the mountains in the city, but also presents some of the most important historical monuments dotted along the lakeside or submerged within the lake. Delhi / Day 10

Breakfast. Morning at leisure. In time transfer to the airport to board the flight to Delhi. On arrival connect flight for onward journey. IMP: Rooms will be available till 1200 Hrs.

Dhaka / Day 01 - 02

Arrive at Dhaka and meet our representative. Transfer to the hotel for check-in. This day is reserved for sightseeing in the surrounding areas or free time. After breakfast embark on an on-foot Dhaka trail through the old part of the Mughal City  to explore the 52 Lane & 53 Bazaar (Market). Here you will enjoy the 400 years old city, the lifestyle of the dwellers and other places like Sadarghat (Water-Front), Lalbagh Fort (built in 1678 by the Mughal), Star Mosque (19th century), Armenian Church (17th century), Dhakeshwari Temple (12th century), Bara Katra (built in 1644 by the Mughals), Choto Katra (built in 1663 by the Mughals), Ahsan Manzil (1859), Shakhari Bazaar (Hindu Street) - the oldest neighborhood in the city, Hoseni Dalan (built in 17th century by the Mughals), Curzon Hall and others area. Lunch in a local restaurant with traditional food. Back to the hotel in the late afternoon.

Dhaka – Srimongol / Day 03

After breakfast drive to the tea capital, Srimongol. Upon arrival,  check-in at Tea Resort. Rest of the day is for sightseeing of the tea garden. Back to the resort in the evening. Dinner and overnight at Tea Resort in Srimongol.

Srimongol – Kamolganj – Srimongol / Day 04

After breakfast, we leave for a whole day cycling trip from Srimongol to Kamolganj. On the way, we visit local markets, Monipuri ethnic village and Kamalgonj village. Lunch at Kamolgonj tribal village. Back to the hotel in the evening for dinner and overnight at Srimongol

Srimongol – Tangail / Day 05 - 07

After a very early breakfast, we leave for trekking inside the Lawacherra National Forest. Expect to see Hillock Gibbons, monkeys, snakes and different species of birds. Also walk through villages and explore handloom weaving closely. The traditional Jackard weaving was introduced by the French in the 18th century. Enjoy a cultural program arranged by the local artists. After breakfast, explore the village and the lifestyle here. After an early lunch drive back to Dhaka. Dinner in a local restaurant and overnight at Dhaka.

After an early breakfast transfer to the international airport to catch the flight for the next destination.

Colombo / Day 01

On arrival at the Bandaranaike International Airport, you will get your first taste of warm Sri Lankan hospitality. A representative from Indo Asia Tours will welcome you and will help transfer to Colombo. Colombo, like many capital cities in developing countries is fast changing. Almost overnight, skyscrapers arise from where old buildings once stood.  Yet in some parts, the old world charm is retained.  For example, there is a 100-year-old clock tower and several British built colonial buildings. Other places of interest are the Pettah bazaar - where one can shop for bargain, a Hindu and a Buddhist temple, residential areas where you find the stately homes of the affluent and the Bandaranaike Memorial International Conference Hall (BMICH) – a gift to Sri Lanka from the People’s Republic of China.

Colombo – Mihinthale – Anuradhapura / Day 02

Breakfast at the hotel and transfer to Anuradhapura.  Check-in to the hotel and relax. In the evening visit Mihinthale. Mihintale is where Buddhism was first introduced to Sri Lanka.  Mihintale is regarded as the cradle of Buddhism in Sri Lanka. The site is essentially a rock riddled with shrines and rock dwellings. A grand stairway of 1,840 steps made out of granite slabs, 15'' wide lead to the summit from where one can get a splendid view of the surrounding countryside.

Anuradhapura – Dambulla / Day 03

Breakfast at the hotel, after which the whole day is spent sightseeing. Anuradhapura was the first capital and undoubtedly the grandest city of the ancient Sri Lanka.  It is the home of two World Heritage sites. Sri Maha Bodhi (Sacred Bo-Tree) was brought as a sapling of the tree under which Prince Siddhartha attained enlightenment. It is over 2,200 years old and is the oldest historically documented tree in the world.  At Brazen Palace (2nd century B.C), the 1600 stone columns you see are all that is left of a magnificent multi-storied residence for monks. Ruwanweliseya (2nd century B.C) is the most famous of all the Dagobas.  It originally depicted the perfect 'bubble shape" that modern restoration has not been able to accurately reproduce.  'Samadhi' Buddha statue (4th century AD) is one of the most famous statues, depicting the Buddha in a state of 'Samadhi' or deep meditation.  Isurumuniya rock temple (3rd century B.C) is well known for its rock carvings.  Proceed to Dambulla and in the evening visit Dambulla Rock Temple. Dambulla rock temple was built by King Walagambahu in the 1st century B.C. and it is a World Heritage site.

Dambulla – Hiriwaduna – Polonnaruwa – Dambulla / Day 04

Breakfast at the hotel and transfer to Habarana.  Start the Hiriwaduna trek through Sri Lankan villages. The trek begins transferring the clients in Land Master vehicles. You can see the amazing birdlife, butterflies and crocodiles, along with villagers as they go about their morning tasks of fishing. Initially one wades through a shallow stream and thereafter crosses a wider tributary in a catamaran. You can even enjoy a bullock cart ride and finally a tasty Sri Lankan meal made at home by the villagers. After this, visit Polonnaruwa and explore the site on bicycles. Polonnaruwa, which was the 2nd capital city of Sri Lanka built in the 11th and 12th centuries AD, is a World Heritage Site.  Here you can see the ruins of the Royal Palace, the Gal Viharaya where 4 splendid statues of the Buddha in 'Upright', 'Sedentary' and 'Recumbent' postures are carved out of rock. Other features include, the Audience Hall, the Lotus Bath, the statue of King Parakramabahu, and the Parakrama Samudraya - a lake built by King Parakramabahu the great.

Dambulla – Sigiriya – Matale (Riverston) / Day 05

Breakfast at the hotel and transfer to Sigiriya. Climb the 5th century Sigiriya rock fortress which is a World Heritage Site, built by King Kashyapa (477-495 AD). The 'Lion Rock' is a citadel of unusual beauty rising 200 metres from the scrub jungle. The rock was the innermost stronghold of the 70 hectare fortified town. A moat, rampart, and extensive gardens including the renowned water gardens, ring the base of the rock. Visit the world-renowned frescoes of the 'Heavenly Maidens' of Sigiriya, which are in a sheltered pocket of the rock approached by a spiral stairway. These frescoes are painted in earth pigments on plaster. Transfer to Matale.

Matale – Knuckles / Day 06

Breakfast at hotel and start the half day Knuckles Trek. Christened Knuckles, because its appearance resembles a set of knuckles in a closed fist, this is a major eco tourism venue of Sri Lanka and has been declared a conservation area. The region stretches over an impressive 155 sq km that contains five major forest formations, a wide variety of rare and endemic flora and fauna and some breathtaking mountain scenery. It is a real paradise for those who love to hike or mountain bike. Numerous trails journey across clear rivers, through dense forests, waterfalls and lush tea plantations, paddy fields and colorful Kandyan home gardens.

Matale – Kandy / Day 07

Breakfast at hotel and transfer to Kandy.  Enroute, visit a spice garden in Matale. Kandy was the last capital of the Sri Lankan Kings and is a World Heritage Site. The name "Kandy" conjures visions of splendor and magnificence.  Many of the legends, traditions and folklore are still lovingly kept alive.  Drive around the Kandy Lake built by the last Sinhala King Sri Wickrama Rajasinghe in 1798. Visit  the bazaar area, arts & crafts centre, a Gem museum and a lapidary. In the evening visit Temple of the Tooth Relic. The day ends with a cultural show.

Kandy – Pinnawela – Peradeniya – Kandy / Day 08

Breakfast at the hotel and transfer to Pinnawela Elephant orphanage. The Pinnawela Elephant Orphanage, established in 1975, commenced with seven orphans. Today some of these orphans enjoy the fortune of seeing their grandchildren born in the same location. The original objective of establishing the orphanage was inclined towards tourism, but it soon became a conservation and educational centre. Also visit the Peradeniya Botanical Gardens. This botanical garden was first built as a pleasure garden by a Sinhala King and was expanded by the British.  It is 147 acres in extent and provides an amazing variety of trees, plants and flowers.

Kandy – Nuwara Eliya / Day 09

Breakfast at the hotel and transfer to Nuwara Eliya. Nuwara Eliya, because of its invigorating mountain climate and scenery, is Sri Lanka’s most popular hill resort.  Nuwara Eliya is also the heart of Sri Lanka’s tea country, producing a significant share of the world best tea.  Sri Lanka’s highest mountain Pidurutalagala (8282 feet) is located here.  Nuwara-Eliya also has one of the finest 18 hole golf courses in South Asia.

Nuwara Eliya – Horton Plains – Nuwara Eliya / Day 10

Breakfast at the hotel and transfer to Horton Plains. The Horton Plain Plateau is a secluded wilderness sanctuary (2130 m high) that offers one of Sri Lanka's most unforgettable views.  Here the land plunges down a dizzy gorge to the southern foot hills and on clear days, even a glimpse of the sea more than 80 km away, is possible.  The Horton Plains are the habitat of giant Rhododendrons (an evergreen shrub with large clusters of trumpet shaped flowers), tree fern primrose and daffodil orchids with birds such as the Sri Lanka Whistling Thrush and Arrenga chuntering on tree tops, the Shaggy Bear monkey and the Blue Mormon butterfly.

Nuwara Eliya – Maskeliya – Adams Peak / Day 11

Breakfast at the hotel and transfer to Maskeliya. Check-in at the hotel and relax. At midnight, start the climb to Adams Peak. Adams Peak is known locally as Sri Pada and is Sri Lanka's fourth highest mountain at 2,243 metres. It is one of the island's most important pilgrimage sites. The giant footprint at the top is the main attraction and is sacred to Buddhists, Hindus and Muslims. The conical shaped mountain is worth the climb for the views and spiritual experience regardless of your belief.

Maskeylia – Kithulgala – Sinharaja / Day 12

Climb down from Adams peak and rest at the hotel.  Thereafter transfer to Sinharaja. Enroute visit Kitulgala. The Kelani River (the broadest river in Sri Lanka) flowing through Kitulgala was the main location where the Oscar winning movie "Bridge on the River Kwai" was filmed.  On the hill above this town, a prehistoric cave was recently discovered containing large middens of shells from an unknown civilization.

Sinharaja / Day 13

Trekking through the Sinharaja rainforest is the plan for the day. This is Sri Lanka's only remaining primeval rain forest.  A single foot path cuts through the heart of its 50 sq. miles.  Rare orchids blossom and cicadas chirp incessantly through the walk.  The only other sound is that of rain; 200 inches of it falls annually. Transfer to beach stay.

Beach Stay / Day 14 - 16

Breakfast at hotel and days spent at leisure on the beach to relax. Transfer to airport for the departure flight.
