Sri Lanka has announced that nationals from 40 countries will be eligible to obtain a free tourist Electronic Travel Authorization (ETA) for stays of up to 30 days, with effect from May 25, 2026.

According to the revised policy, the free ETA facility will apply to travellers holding diplomatic, official, service and ordinary passports from eligible countries.

The list of 40 countries includes Australia, Austria, Bahrain, Belarus, Belgium, Canada, China, Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, India, Indonesia, Iran, Israel, Italy, Japan, Kazakhstan, Kuwait, Malaysia, Nepal, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Oman, Pakistan, Poland, Qatar, Russia, Saudi Arabia, South Korea, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Thailand, Turkey, UAE, the United Kingdom and the United States.
