This itinerary takes you the stalwarts of tiger hotspots within India. Starting from Ranthambore, to Madhya Pradesh’s Kanha, Pench and Bandhavgarh, the trip is sprinkled with ample opportunity to spot wildlife, specially the tiger. The elusive animal lurks in these corridors more frequently than the others, so chances are that you might catch a glimpse of it. Two weeks is also a great time to immerse in the heart of India, watching local life pass by. Along with the wildlife spotting, another highlight lies in the train travel in this journey. Delhi / Day 1
Arrive in Delhi and reserve the day for sightseeing. Landmark monuments that tie up three eras of Indian history and give you a hue of religious diversity in the nation fill the day. The 17th century imposing fortress, Red Fort, followed by Jama Masjid, the mosque that can house 20,000 kneeling devotees in prayer and Raj Ghat, Gandhi’s memorial.
Jaipur / Day 2 - 3
On this day, drive to Jaipur. Maharaja Jai Singh II built Jaipur in the 18th century. It is a planned city built with ancient Hindu rules as the colonial capital of a richly colorful state. The whole city was painted pink to welcome the visit of Prince Albert in 1853. The finest example of Rajput architecture in the form of Amber Fort, the palace of wind (Hawa Mahal), the royal residence and a vast museum in the City Place.
Ranthambore / Day 4 - 5
After breakfast drive to Ranthambore. It is one of the finest tiger reserves in India nestled in the Aravallis and home to a variety of flora and fauna. The park along with the contiguous regions of Kela Devi and Sawai Man Singh parks forms a good biosphere along the Chambal River, which separates it from Madhya Pradesh. Ranthambore is also rich in bird life with around 300 species of birds. Infact for a keen bird watcher Ranthambore and the surrounding area is a paradise. Some interesting resident species of birds are large Cormorant, Painted Spur fowl, Sarus Crane, Bronzed winged Jacana, Sandpiper, Kingfisher, Nightjar, Painted Sandgrouse, Great horned owl and many more regular winter migrants which come from their nesting ground north of Himalayas to Ranthambore and surrounding areas. Early morning and afternoon safaris in the park.
Bharatpur – Agra / Day 6
After early breakfast transfer to railway station and connect to Bharatpur. On arrival continue drive to Agra. En-route visit the Fatehpur Sikri, the beautiful and deserted medieval city built by Akbar the Great in the 16th century to serve as the capital of his vast empire. The complex consists of religious, residential and administrative buildings. The Mosque is considered a replica of the Mosque at Mecca and is extremely elegant, containing elements of Hindu and Persian design. Housed here is the Shrine of Sheikh Salim Chisti one of the greatest of Sufi saints of the Muslim Agra, the city of Mughals offers you an opportunity to explore the massive monuments, majestic buildings, and the popular arts and crafts. The architectural splendor of the mausoleums, the fort and the palaces is a vivid remainder of the capital in the 16th and early 17th centuries. Overnight in the hotel.
Agra / Day 7
This day is reserved for Agra sightseeing. Pench / Day 11
After breakfast drive to Pench National Park. Nestling in the lower southern reaches of the Satpura hills it is named after Pench River meandering through the park from north to south. It is located in the southern part of Madhya Pradesh, bordering Maharashtra. Pench National Park comprises of 758 SQ Kms, out of which a core area of 299 sq km is the national park and remaining 464 sq km is the buffer area.
Nagpur – Mumbai / Day 12 - 13
Enjoy the morning Jeep Safari. Later transfer to the Nagpur airport to connect flight to Mumbai. Onward flight.
