Akasa Air, the newest airline in India will fly daily direct flights on the Chennai-Mumbai route from September 15, a company statement said recently.

As part of its plans to create pan-India network connectivity, Akasa will also add new routes between Ahmedabad and Bangalore from August 23.

Akasa Air has an aircraft arriving every fortnight, and this helps it augment its network and progressively add more cities along new sectors, Akasa Air co-founder and chief commercial officer Praveen Iyer said recently.
