Holders of Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) cards are no longer required to carry their old passports while travelling to India.

The circular further states that the timeline for re-issuance of OCI cards has been extended until 31 December, 2021. The OCI guidelines that have been in force since 2005, state that an Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) card holder is required to re-register each time a new passport is issued till 20 years of age and once after 50 years of age. However, re-issuance of OCI cardholder registration is not mandatory each time a new passport is issued between the age of 21 and 50.
