The Ministry of Home Affairs of India has granted security clearance to Jet Airways as the airline plans to relaunch commercial flight operations, an official document said. The security clearance comes in wake of the proposed change in Jet Airways’ management control and shareholding pattern, for the scheduled operator permit. The Jalan-Kalrock Consortium is currently the promoters of Jet Airways.

The airline in its old avatar had operated its last flight on April 17, 2019. The airline had conducted its test flight to and from the Hyderabad airport in a step towards obtaining the air operator certificate recently.

The operations are expected to start in the September 2022 quarter, according to the company’s spokesperson. “Jet Airways expects to start commercial operations in Q3 (third quarter) of this year, that is the July-September 2022 quarter,” a Jet Airways’ spokesperson has said.
