In a major boost to developing Himachal Pradesh as a round-the-year tourism destination, a first-of-its-kind indoor ski park will be coming up at Kufri, near Shimla. A memorandum of understanding has been signed between the state government and Nagsons Developers to come up with India’s first indoor ski park at Kufri. The project is expected to start in March 2021 and would become functional by April 2022.

Spread across 5.04 acres in Kufri, the project is estimated to cost around INR 250 crore. Besides the indoor ski park, the project will also include a palatial mall, a five-star hotel, amusement park, gaming zone, food court, shopping arcade and other amenities as well as a parking facility for more than 1000 vehicles.

Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur, who was also present at the occasion, assured the promoter of the project that the government would extend all possible support in developing the country’s first indoor ski park in Himachal Pradesh. Reiterating the state government’s commitment to making Himachal one of the best tourist destinations across India, Thakur said the government has been working hard to make it more tourist-friendly by providing them with world-class amenities.
