Sikkim, which had earlier announced opening interstate movement from October 1 and opening of hotels and homestays from October 10, has further eased restrictions as part of the Unlock 5.0 guidelines.

The state had earlier installed health-screening check posts is now discontinuing the facility at Rangpo and Melli check posts. There shall be no restrictions on the interstate movement of persons and vehicles. However, the entry of tourists from October 10, 2020, shall be permitted as per the Standard Operating Procedure issued by the tourism and civil aviation department.

The Ministry of Home Affairs has reiterated to states that there should be no restrictions on the interstate and intrastate movement of persons and goods during the ongoing unlocking process. In pursuance of the above directives and to ensure the free interstate and intrastate movement of travellers, the state task force in a meeting held on September 30, 2020, issued the following advisories for compliance:

There shall be no restrictions imposed on anyone who wants to exit from the state. However, they have advised visiting the nearest health facility if they develop any flu-like symptoms.

The use of a mask is mandatory, and social distancing will be followed in all vehicles while travelling, as per the guidelines previously issued. Spitting in public places has been strictly prohibited.
Symptomatic patients would have to get tested for Covid-19.
